National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) Semester Exchange Program Spring 2027

Tuition Fee Waived – Students only need to cover:

• Accommodation and living expenses in Taiwan
• Roundtrip flight ticket and travel insurance
• Visa and immigration-related expenses
• Health examination and insurance requirements
• Personal expenses during the mobility period

Eligibility for ITS Students

• D4/S1: Batch 2024 students
• S2/S3: Must have completed at least one semester
• Good academic standing and approval from the department

• Semester Starts: 22 February 2027

Courses & Language of Instruction

• Courses are offered in both English and Chinese.
• Students may take courses across various departments subject to availability.
• Exchange students are responsible for confirming credit transfer eligibility with their home department at ITS.

Course Registration Period

2027 Spring Semester

• 13 January – 20 January 2027
• 22 February – 3 March 2027

Mandarin Chinese Program

• NKUST provides free Mandarin Chinese courses for exchange students.
• Classes are available at different proficiency levels.
• No additional tuition fee is required for exchange students.

Accommodation & Living in Taiwan

• Students are responsible for arranging accommodation.
• Living costs in Kaohsiung are generally lower than in Taipei.
• Additional details regarding housing options will be provided after acceptance.

Health Examination Requirement

To comply with Taiwan Government regulations, all accepted students must complete a health examination before arriving in Taiwan.

• For students staying less than 6 months: “Health Certificate for Short-Term Students”
• For students staying more than 6 months: Health Certificate for Residence Application”

4. Study Plan
5. English Language Proficiency Certificate
6. Chinese Language Certificate equivalent to A2 (required only for programs taught in Chinese)

9. Recommendation Letter from Academic Advisor
10. GCW Non-Degree Certificate (Minimum Grade C) or Test Score (Minimum 80)
11. Not required for S2 applicants

Important Notes

• Students who already have a Chinese name or would like to use a preferred Chinese name should indicate it during the application process.
• Accepted students must complete post-acceptance procedures, including insurance and flight information submission.
• Final acceptance is subject to review by NKUST departments and the Office of International Affairs.
