ESTACA, France, Student Exchange Spring Semester 2027

Dear ITS Students,

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Semester Exchange Program at ESTACA (France) for the Spring Semester 2027.

About ESTACA

Founded in 1925, ESTACA is one of France’s leading engineering schools and a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE). ESTACA specializes in transportation engineering and offers academic excellence in:

  • Automotive Engineering
  • Aeronautics
  • Aerospace
  • Railway Systems
  • Naval Engineering

The institution is recognized for its strong industry engagement and research in sustainable transportation, autonomous systems, new energies, digital technologies, and intelligent mobility solutions.

Program Overview

Available Programs – Spring 2027

  1. Automotive & Aeronautics Design Program (AAD)
  2. Engineering Diploma Curriculum Exchange Program

Academic Information

  • Exchange students may enroll in up to 30 ECTS per semester.
  • Available study fields include:
    • Aeronautics
    • Aerospace
    • Automotive Engineering
    • Urban and Rail Transport
    • Naval Engineering
  • Language requirement:
    • English-taught courses: Minimum CEFR B2 level (TOEFL iBT 79 / IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)
    • French-taught courses: Minimum CEFR B2 level in French
  • Retake examinations are available during standard ESTACA retake periods.
  • Official transcripts are issued after the semester concludes.

Additional Funding Opportunity: GIFAS Scholarship

Students applying to eligible aerospace-related programs may also apply for the GIFAS Scholarship, funded by the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS).

Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship Amount: €1,000–€1,500 (one-time grant; amount may vary)
  • Payment: Upon arrival at ESTACA in January 2027

Eligibility

  • Students in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering fields
  • Priority consideration will be given to female STEM students, in accordance with GIFAS guidelines
  • All eligible students are encouraged to apply

Accommodation options vary by campus and availability.

Laval Campus

Students are strongly encouraged to begin housing arrangements early.

Living Costs

Students are responsible for:

  • Accommodation
  • Meals and living expenses
  • Transportation
  • Visa-related costs
  • Insurance and healthcare expenses

Visa and Insurance

  • Non-EU students must obtain a French student visa.
  • ESTACA will issue an invitation letter after acceptance.
  • Visa information: https://france-visas.gouv.fr/
  • Health insurance is mandatory for all students.
  • Non-EU students must register for the French national health insurance system upon arrival.
  • Students must also maintain international insurance covering:
    • Medical expenses
    • Hospitalization
    • Repatriation
    • Civil liability

  • Diploma/S1: Batch 2024
  • S2: All batches

Required Documents

  1. Curriculum Vitae (preferably Europass format)
  2. Motivation Letter (1 page, A4)
  3. Official English Transcript
  4. Learning Agreement ITS Version
  5. Valid English or French proficiency certificate
    • English programs: TOEFL iBT 79 / IELTS 6.0 / TOEIC 785 or equivalent
    • French programs: Minimum B2 French proficiency
  6. Passport copy (valid at least one year prior to the program)
  7. Recommendation letter from academic advisor
  8. Statement Letter (ITS format http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange)
  9. Parental Support Letter (Bahasa Indonesia)
  10. GCW Non-Degree Certificate (minimum grade C) or GCW Non-Degree Test Result (minimum score 75)

Note: Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Additional Documents for GIFAS Scholarship Applicants

Students applying for the GIFAS Scholarship must prepare the following additional documents:

  1. Passport copy
  2. Academic transcripts from previous years of study
  3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  4. Cover letter explaining:
    • Why the student wishes to study in France
    • Why the student wishes to study at ESTACA
  5. Recommendation letter(s) from the home university

Note: Documents already submitted for the ESTACA exchange application (passport, transcript, CV, and recommendation letter) may be reused for the scholarship application.

  1. Prepare all required documents in PDF format and combine them into one ZIP/RAR file.
  2. Submit your application through the Study Abroad ITS Form:
