Overview

Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO) in Mexico City is pleased to open nominations for the Fall 2026 international exchange semester. This program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Mexican culture while pursuing academic excellence through a diverse range of courses taught in both English and Spanish.


Academic Offerings

Students can choose from three delivery modalities: Face-to-Face, Hybrid, and Distance (Remote/Synchronous). Please note that preliminary course selection begins June 24, with final confirmation in August.


Important Dates 

  • Application & Admission

    1. Nomination Period: February 1 – June 1, 2026
    2. Document Submission Period: February 1 – June 1, 2026
    3. Visa Required Countries Deadline: April 1, 2026 (Recommended to ensure timely processing)
  • Course Selection & Registration

    1. Pre-selection Session: June 24, 2026
    2. Official Course Catalog Publication: June 26, 2026
    3. Course Selection Confirmation: From July 1, 2026, onward
    4. Add/Drop & New Registration Period: August 5 – 12, 2026
  • Academic Calendar

    1. Welcome Day (Mandatory Attendance): August 5, 2026
    2. Start of Classes: August 10, 2026
    3. End of Classes (including exams): December 5, 2026
  • Holiday & Break Schedule

    1. IBERO Summer Break: July 13 – August 2, 2026
    2. Winter Vacation (Periodo vacacional de invierno): December 17, 2026 – January 3, 2027

Language Requirements

English

  • TOEFL iBT minimum score: 72 (equivalent to B2)
  • IELTS: 5.5 (equivalent to B2), with no band below 5.0
  • Pearson Test minimum score: 49 (equivalent to B2)
  • Duolingo English Test minimum score: 105 (equivalent to B2)

Spanish

  • EXELEAA exam: minimum score 64 (equivalent to B2). If between 39–63 (B1), students must take the intensive Spanish course during the semester (8 hrs/week, equivalent to 13 Ibero credits).
  • DELE exam: Diploma at B2, equivalent to 60/100 with at least 30/50 in each band. With B1, the intensive Spanish course will also be mandatory.
  • SIELE exam: minimum scores of 178 in reading comprehension, 164 in listening comprehension, 167 in written expression/interaction, and 176 in oral expression/interaction (equivalent to B2). If scores fall between B1 ranges, the intensive Spanish course will be mandatory. The course will also be required if students score below B2 in more than two categories.
  • CLES: minimum B2 level. If your score is lower than this, the intensive Spanish course is mandatory.
  • Avant Assessment: a minimum score of 6 (equivalent to B1) makes the intensive Spanish course mandatory. If your score is higher than 7, the intensive Spanish course is not mandatory.

Application Requirements

Students must upload the following documents to the application platform:

  • Official Academic Transcript (English or Spanish).

  • Valid Passport Copy (Valid at least until June 2027).

  • Medical Certificate of Good Health (Using the provided IBERO format).

  • Travel Assistance Insurance (Specific international coverage required).


Nomination Process

  1. University Nomination: Home universities must nominate students.

  2. Student Application: Once nominated, students will be guided to upload their documents.

  3. Acceptance: Official acceptance letters will be sent via email after a full review of the application file.
