Kumamoto University JASSO Short-term Postgraduate Exchange April 2021

Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kumamoto University, Japan offered a Short Term Exchange Program under JASSO Scholarship for 6 months or one year.

This year Kumamoto University is recruiting 13 applicants (graduate students/S2/S3) who are from partner universities with a student exchange agreement.

 

The applicants should receive approval from Prospective Professor at Kumamoto University-Japan. Please kindly refer to this file
Please see the following condition of this program;
1.    Amount of scholarship:
　　80,000 yen per month (participants have to take responsibility for the cost of flight ticket, accommodation, food,　health insurance and other living cost etc.)
2.    Duration of the program:
　　Either 6 months or 11 months from 1 March 2021
3. Contents of the program:
-Research project
Lectures (a certificate of credits will be issued by Dean of GSST) At least 3 classes related to topics in environment issues are required.
*Exchange students can take most of lectures offered in GSST, if agreement from an instructor can be obtained.
 -Field trip
-Final Report
-Midterm and final presentations
*Please note that the program may be cancelled depending on the situation of COVID-19.

2. Certificate of Enrollment
3. A letter of recommendation from a professor or a research supervisor who can evaluate the applicant’s personality and ability in study and research.
4. Official transcripts in English of academic records from each college and university attended, including information such as GPA and ranking.
5. An official score of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Test of English for International Communications (TOEIC), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Desirable scores are greater than 71 for TOEFL-iBT (530 for TOEFL-pBT), 700 for TOEIC, and 6.0 for IELTS.
Please make sure that you submit valid english proficiency (valid means that the TOEFL period is no loner than 2 years from test date)
6. Learning Agreement (Please download from here http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange ). Please kindly fill dept coordinator with the signature Head of Department / Coordinator academic at your department. Please leave it blank at Institutional Coordinator (it will be done by ITS GE )
7. Statement Letter (please download from here http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange ). You may submit approval communication with Head of Dept as the replacement of this letter

The incomplete application will not processed by Study Abroad Team.

The interview will be held online with zoom apps around 10-12 Nov 2020
