We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity for ITS students! The School of Marine Science & Technology, Tianjin University will hold the Smart Ocean Summer School 2026 from 8 August – 21 August 2026 (14 days).

This program is open to all ITS students (D4, S1, S2, and S3) from any department or batch who have an interest in maritime-related issues. No specific academic background is required.

Program Overview:

Host: Tianjin University (TJU), School of Marine Science and Technology (SMST)
Program Nature: International internship program under CITEF CEP Program (China International Talent Exchange Foundation)
Duration: 8 August – 21 August 2026 (14 days)
Location: Tianjin, China (on-site internship & courses)
Certificate: Participants will receive a program completion certificate

1. Core Program Coverage

The following costs are fully covered for selected participants:

Program fees
Accommodation
Meals during the program
Insurance during the program period
Local transportation

2. Additional Potential Benefits

(Subject to successful CITEF approval)

Round‑trip international airfare reimbursement
Student remuneration: USD 300 (before tax), 지급 after successful completion of the internship

Important Requirements

No Withdrawal Policy
Students who have been formally admitted may not withdraw from the CEP Program, as this would result in the loss of a sponsored placement.
Letter of Intent
All admitted participants are required to sign a Letter of Intent on Work Placement Acceptance.
Top Student List Submission
The list of nominated top students must be submitted promptly in accordance with project regulations.

We highly appreciate your cooperation in carefully managing and organizing participating students to ensure commitment and program success.
(Any recommendations to support student management are warmly welcomed.)

Expenses Not Covered

Participants are responsible for the following costs:

Personal expenses
Visa fees
(Acceptance and invitation letters will be provided to support visa applications.)

Important Notice

Please note that any student formally accepted into the CEP Program is expected not to withdraw afterward, as this would waste a sponsored place. Your support in ensuring student commitment is greatly appreciated.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Current undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral student
Age: 18–35 years
- Born on or after 1 April 1991
- Born on or before 1 April 2008

Application Requirements:

Please prepare the following documents:

Scanned passport (valid until at least August 2027)
Scanned ITS student ID/Certificate of enrollment

English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL ITP min. 477, iBT 79, IELTS 5.5, Duolingo 90, TEFL 500, or else)
Motivation Letter (1–2 pages explaining your interest and why you should be selected)
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Parents’ Support Letter (in English, signed by your parent, stating awareness and financial support)
GCW (if applicable)
