International Insight 2015 is an international education expo that is held by ITS International Office. The aim of this expo is to give exposure and international insight in order to prepare all of ITS academicians especially ITS new students of 2015 and also the citizens of Surabaya in facing global competition. This year, International Insight 2015 initiates two new sub events, which are Storytelling and News Anchor Competition, as an attempt to include the participation of senior high school students and to expose the international atmosphere through the expo. ASEAN Community is chosen as the theme for Storytelling and News Anchor Competition. Through this competition, it is expected that the participants are able to gain better understanding of ASEAN Community in preparation to face the upcoming Asean Economic Community (AEC) 2015.
Storytelling competition is a competition which gives high school students the opportunity to showcase their storytelling and acting skills. Participants must choose a folk story from one of the ASEAN country and retell their chosen stories in the most attractive manner. Each participant must act in individual, although he/she may bring and use costumes to support the performance.
The storytelling competition consists of 3 (three) stages, which are selection stage and final stage. Participants that qualify from the selection stage will be invited to compete in the semi-final, and the top 3 participants from semi-final stage will perform their act in the final stage. The finalists will be awarded the first prize, second prize, and third prize.
The registration fee is Rp.50.000,00 for each participant and it can be paid on the spot before selection stage is started
News Anchor Competition
News anchor competition is a competition which gives high school students the opportunity to showcase their presentation, news reading, and English speaking skills. Participants are required to pick a news article related to ASEAN countries and present it in a professional manner. Participants may use the proper attire and act in a team consisting of 2 (two) people from the same high school or individually.
The news anchor competition consists of 2 (two) stages, which are the selection stage and the final stage. Participants that qualify from the selection stage will be invited to compete in the final stage and the finalists will be awarded the first prize, second prize, and third prize.
