Surabaya, April 21, 2025 — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya welcomed a visit from the Directorate of Institutional Affairs and the Directorate of Commercialization and Partnerships, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendiktiristek RI) for the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of the INSPIRASI Program Batch 1 and 2. This activity took place at the Renewable Energy Integration Demonstrator of Indonesia (REIDI) Site ITS. The presence of these stakeholders marked an important moment in promoting the commercialization of innovations, particularly in the field of renewable energy.
The event began with a courtesy meeting between Prof. Dr. Mukhamad Najib, S.TP., M.M., Director of Institutional Affairs at Kemendiktiristek RI, and Prof. Ir. Bambang Pramujati, M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., the Rector of ITS, along with the ITS leadership team. During this meeting, various strategic synergies between the government and universities were discussed to support the national agenda for sustainable development, especially in the context of the energy transition and environmental protection.
Following the meeting, the delegation proceeded with a site visit to REIDI, a strategic facility at ITS. REIDI serves as a center for the demonstration and development of renewable energy technologies. This facility is designed to support cross-sector collaboration in research, energy system integration, and the commercialization of innovations to society and industry. This initiative is highly relevant to the efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 on clean and affordable energy, as well as SDG 13 on climate action.
The highlight of the agenda was the Monitoring and Evaluation session of the INSPIRASI Program at REIDI. This session was presented by Dr. Ary Bachtiar, the program leader. The evaluation was conducted by two experts: Prof. Dr. Elfahmi, S.Si., M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Tumiran, who provided assessments on the program’s achievements and its potential for future development. This activity also served as a feedback mechanism for improving the commercialization strategy of renewable energy-based research.
Through this event, it is expected that the development of renewable energy technologies at ITS will make a tangible contribution. This contribution is hoped to accelerate the national energy transition and support environmental sustainability efforts.
