Unit Pusat Bahasa Global

The Global Language Center (GLC) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) functions as a language service unit dedicated to enhancing international language proficiency, fostering cross-cultural awareness, and supporting intercultural communication. Available services include language courses & tests, academic writing center (AWC), and self-study facilities. These services cater to both the ITS academic community and the wider public.

1. Language Courses

• English: General English (Conventional and Apps-based), TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, Duolingo, Mawapres Preparation, Debate Competition Preparation, Academic Writing, Conversation Class, and Kids Class.
• Foreign Languages: Japanese, German, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, French.

2. Language Testing Services

• TOEFL ITP,
• TOEIC,
• TEFL (TOEFL-like),
• EIC (TOEIC-like),
• British Council EnglishScore,
• TPDA, and TOEP (PLTI).

3. Academic Writing Center (AWC)

• Academic writing support through individual consultations and trainings, including writing classes, short courses, and open workshops. It also provides publicly accessible online learning materials.

4. Self Access Room (SAR)

• A self-study and discussion space offering TOEFL practice, FLC (Foreign Language Community), reading space, and Fun TEFL activities.

5. Front Desk & Scholarship Services

• An information and registration service; GLC’s Front Desk handles GLC program enrollment, certificate issuance, and the IKOMA EMAS Plus scholarship service for ITS students.

6. Translation Services

• Translation services are available in a wide range of languages, including English, Indonesian, Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, German, and others, offered in both sworn and non-sworn versions.

7. Foreign Language Requirement Compliance

• GLC provides foreign language services to support students in meeting the language proficiency requirement, which is a mandatory condition for final thesis examination registration at ITS, in accordance with ITS Rector Regulation No. 18 of 2023.
