ITS Campus, ITS News<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)’s commitment to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a> has once again received international recognition. Through the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026<\/a>, ITS successfully advanced to the 101\u2013200 world ranking group, up from its previous position in the 201\u2013300 range.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This improvement represents one of ITS’s best achievements in the ranking that measures universities’ contributions to the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs). ITS recorded strong performance in three main SDG indicators, namely SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure with a score of 91.9; SDG 14 on Life Below Water with a score of 84.0; and SDG 1 on No Poverty with a score of 84.8.<\/span><\/p>\n

Head of the ITS SDGs and Eco Campus Unit, Danar Guruh Pratomo ST MT PhD, revealed that this achievement is the result of consistent implementation of SDG values within the campus environment. Support from leadership policies and the involvement of the academic community have become important factors behind this improvement. “This year, Alhamdulillah, we have increased to the 101\u2013200 world group, and that is an extraordinary achievement,” he said with gratitude.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lecturer from the ITS Department of Geomatics Engineering explained that various activities to build awareness among the academic community regarding sustainable development issues are consistently carried out. One of the initiatives undertaken is the implementation of a sustainability test aimed at strengthening understanding of SDGs within the internal campus environment. “At ITS, sustainability tests are frequently conducted to build awareness among our colleagues,” he stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Danar added that ITS’s strong position in SDG 1 is supported by various scholarship programs and educational assistance for students. Meanwhile, high performance in SDG 14 is closely related to the focus on maritime development that has long been part of the institution’s vision. “No Poverty (SDG 1)<\/a> scores high because we provide scholarships, while Life Below Water (SDG 14)<\/a> is strong because maritime focus has been part of ITS’s vision and mission,” he explained enthusiastically.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to these three leading SDGs, ITS also demonstrates an overall score trend that continues to improve over the past five years. In 2026, ITS recorded an overall score in the range of 82.3\u201389.2, up from the range of 79.4\u201383.6 in the previous year. This achievement strengthens ITS’s position as one of the most sustainable universities in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving forward, ITS targets to enter the world’s top 100 next year and the top 50 within the next three years. These targets will be pursued through strengthening SDG implementation in education, research, and community service, while simultaneously expanding partnerships at the international level.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through these measures, ITS continues to strive to deliver tangible impacts for community welfare and environmental sustainability. This achievement simultaneously reaffirms ITS’s position as an institution that does not merely pursue numbers but truly lives in the spirit of sustainable development. “The principle of SDGs is no one left behind,” he concluded.
