In the first lecture, Prof. Dr. Min-Chih Liao from Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, Construction Material Faculty, Taiwan Tech, delivered a lecture on “The Future of Road Infrastructure Low-Carbon Emission”. He highlighted that road construction contributes around 15% to total construction and maintenance emissions. To address this, Prof. Dr. Min-Chih Liao underscored the necessity to find alternatives for road construction with lower emission. He explored low carbon technologies that are possible to use, specifically with the use of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), which can reduce excavation of raw materials while reducing carbon emissions.
