Materials Innovation Laboratory

Vision-The laboratory of materials innovation aims to become a highly reputable lab and center in materials innovation and computation supported by leading researchers, while also establishing strong link and match with and delivering state of the art and innovative solutions to related industries.

Activities-Our lab is promoting and conducting all learning, research and service activities mainly related to ideas and aspects of material innovation. Based on the fact, our lab is accredited as lab based education (LBE) lab by LPPM ITS Surabaya since 2016 (based on decree 061238/IT2.11/TU.00.09/2016). Having the LBE status, our lab becomes frontier in materials research. In fact, in 2018 our lab has been ranked as the 2nd best LBE lab in term of publication productivity by LPPM ITS (based on decree 010596/IT2.VII/TU.00.08/2018). In research, our lab focuses on biomaterials, polymers, composites and material modeling and simulations. In addition, most of lecturers in our lab are also as reviewers for some leading international journals, while our lab members have produced some patents as well.  For students, our lab has become one of ANTASENA team home-bases to support their activities (ANTASENA is a prototype racing car utilizing hydrogen fuel. The team is fully supported by ITS Surabaya).

Our lab has several facilities and good environment for studying and research. Among others, the facilities are:

  2. 3D printer
  3. Hand-truder
  4. Tensile machine
  5. Mini TGA
  6. Furnace
  7. Compressor
  8. Compaction machine for plastic, and
  9. Other mechanical and digital equipments.

Our lab has been also equipped with several safety equipments. There is a meeting room with WIFI connection as well.
