Their innovation, named <em data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"529\">Chitocorn<\/em>, led the Ulat Podium Team to secure <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"579\">2nd Place<\/strong> at the <strong data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"650\">Chemical Engineering Entrepreneurship Festival (CHEEF) 2025<\/strong>, organized by the Chemical Engineering Division of the Indonesian Engineers Association (BKKPII) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) on Thursday (25\/9).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"1212\">The Ulat Podium Team consists of <strong data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"858\">Ussryl Septhania Putri<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"889\">Labiba Nareswari Suprapto<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"920\">Amarra Kamila Lestari<\/strong>, under the supervision of <strong data-start=\"947\" data-end=\"999\">Hakun Wirawasista Aparamarta, S.T., M.MT., Ph.D.<\/strong>. This achievement adds to the growing list of ITS student accomplishments in developing environmentally conscious solutions, aligned with the university\u2019s focus on sustainability and green technology initiatives.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"1212\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6827\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2025\/12\/berita2-1-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"567\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2025\/12\/berita2-1-225x300.png 225w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2025\/12\/berita2-1-240x320.png 240w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2025\/12\/berita2-1.png 241w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1602\">Chitocorn is designed as an <strong data-start=\"1242\" data-end=\"1286\">innovative biodegradable laminated paper<\/strong> that is resistant to both water and oil. Its coating material is derived from <strong data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1431\">chitosan extracted from Hong Kong mealworms (Tenebrio molitor)<\/strong>, while the base substrate uses <strong data-start=\"1463\" data-end=\"1503\">bioplastic made from corn cob starch<\/strong>. This combination produces a strong, food-safe, and environmentally degradable packaging material.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1816\">Beyond its mechanical advantages, Chitocorn also emphasizes <strong data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1699\">halal standards and food safety<\/strong>, as it is produced without alcohol-based plasticizers\u2014making it safe and acceptable for broader segments of society.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1818\" data-end=\"2114\">CHEEF 2025 serves as a major platform for chemical engineering entrepreneurship, focusing on science-based business innovations and sustainable solutions.
