CHEMICAL PHYSICS AND INDUSTRIAL MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY

Led by Siti Nurkhamidah, ST., MS., Ph.D as head of the laboratory. This laboratory is engaged in the area of industrial waste treatment, both biologically and physically and chemically. The leading research conducted:

  1. Study on the Effect of Inhibitors on the Maximum Specific Growth Rate of Denitrification in the Activated Sludge Process.
  2. Anaerobic active sludge treatment with artificial neural network and utilization of bio gas as energy substitution.
  3. Reducing Ammonia Levels in PT Petrokimia’s Liquid Waste by Using Kerosene Liquid Membrane with SPAN 80 Surfactant.
  4. Study on the performance of the continuous system of Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) on reducing oil and COD levels of Pertamina DOH Waste, West Java-Balongan
  5. Making biogas from sludge
  6. Study of Decolorization of Textile Industry Liquid Waste by using Alum, PAC or MgCl2.
  7. Siloxane removal in biogas with activated carbon adsorber
  8. Effect of H2O2 on Aerobic Biological Waste Formaldehyde Treatment
  9. Study of the performance of Dissolved Air Flotation on reducing oil content in wastewater.
  10. Electroplating Waste Heavy Metal Adsorption with Shrimp Shell
  11. Anaerobic Production of Biogas from Cow Manure.
  12. Oily Waste Chlorination

Research topics include:

  1. Data Acquisition
The data that is currently around us is heterogeneous, both in terms of structure (structured and unstructured), location (distributed or centralized), from various sources/resources (example: data from websites, text messages/sms, and others) , and volume (example: massive data or big data).
  2. Information Dissemination
Along with the development of data sources and volumes, various technologies have also developed to process the data. Each of these technologies is an implementation of a different paradigm regarding data, and is embodied in innovations in pre-processing and data processing techniques.
  3. Processing Paradigm
Processes and methods of processing data into more valuable information.

FACILITY

Microscope and Digital Camera

The Olympus CX 23, Japan mounted with digital camera, OptiLab Advance Plus is provided to improve educational microscopy workflow. The digital camera is connected with computer by use of Optilab Viewer 4 software. The student can save the image of the object in their computer.

Fume Hood

Fume Hood, FH-P 125, Robust-Indonesia is designed and manufactured according to SEFA – 1 2010, BS 7258 1-4, en 14 175 and ANSI/ASHRAE 110 Standard in an ISO 9001-2015 Facility.
Laminar Air Flow

The laminar air flow (LAF) cabinet, LAF 140, Robust-Indonesia is utilized to prepare the microbial culture. The LAF is operated using the touch screen central LAF control.
