Upaya menjalin kerjasama dengan instansi luar terkait, senantiasa dilakukan oleh Fakultas Teknologi Kelautan (FTK), termasuk Departemen Teknik Kelautan (DTK) di dalamnya. Pagi hari Selasa, 2 Juli 2019, Prof. Eko Budi Djatmiko (salah seorang dosen DTK) bersama Dr. Setyo Nugroho dan Pak Eka (dosen Departemen Teknik Transportasi Laut\/DTTL) bertandang ke kampus Politeknik Pelayaran (Poltekpel) Surabaya.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dalam diskusi bersama Direktur, Bpk. Heru, beserta beberapa staff senior Poltekpel, dapat digali banyak hal yang sangat potensial dapat dikerjasamakan antara pihak FTK (untuk semua departemen di dalamnya, termasuk DTK) dengan Poltekpel, dengan memanfaatkan SDM dan fasilitas yang dimiliki oleh kedua pihak. Beberapa hal yang nampak jelas dan disepakati antara lain kerjasama dalam bentuk: 1). Penelitian bersama, 2). Penelitian dan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM) bersama, misalnya pemberian pelatihan kepada para nelayan, anak buah kapal (ABK) pelayaran rakyat (pelra), 3). Pelibatan mahasiswa FTK untuk ikut berlayar di kapal latih poltekpel, 4). Sertifikasi bagi mahasiswa FTK untuk keahlian dasar di bidang kelautan seperti seamanship, dll.<\/p>\n

Suasana diskusi menggali potensi kerjasama antara Prof. Eko dan tim FTK dengan Direktur Poltekpel Surabaya beserta para staff senior selama kunjungan.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Pada kesempatan itu, Prof. Eko, demikian pria flamboyan ini sering disapa, menyampaikan bahwa pimpinan FTK (Dekan beserta para Kadep) akan berkunjung ke Poltekpel, dalam rangka perkenalan yang lebih erat, serta membahas lebih detil realisasi kerjasama tersebut. Direktur Poltekpel sangat senang dan siap menunggu kunjungan pimpinan FTK. \u201cMakin cepat makin baik, mungkin awal minggu depan,\u201d harap Pak Direktur kepada Prof. Eko.<\/p>\n

Sementara itu, dari sudut pandang kepala Departemen Teknik Kelautan, Dr. Eng. Rudi Walujo Prastianto, keempat butir potensi kerjasama tersebut sangatlah relevan dan tepat untuk direalisasikan. Mengingat semua aspek di atas juga menjadi program kerja DTK tahun 2019 ini, khususnya dalam Kuartal 3 ini. Misalnya pelatihan untuk Sertifikasi Profesional bagi mahasiswa adalah salah satu program yang sedang digalakkan oleh DTK, guna mendukung program ITS dan nasional saat ini. Sehingga setelah lulus para alumni DTK tidak hanya memiliki ijazah akademik saja, tapi juga dilengkapi dengan kemampuan profesional lainnya yang relevan dengan bidang Teknik Kelautan.
