Reportase kali ini berupa laporan lawatan Prof. Eko Budi Djatmiko ke Istanbul Turki dalam rangka mengikuti event Kolokium Ilmiah bertajuk A. Y\u00fccel Odaba\u015fi Colloquium Series, 3rd<\/sup> International Meeting (AYO-COL 2018) yang diselenggarakan di Faculty of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering (FNAOE) \u2013 Istanbul Teknik \u00dcniversitesi (ITU). Laporan disajikan dalam beberapa seri. Beberapa manfaat dari lawatan ini dapat menjadi pelajaran, inspirasi, bahkan peluang kerja sama yang baik bagi kita di Departemen Teknik Kelautan (DTK) \u2013 ITS.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lawatan diawali jam 00:25 flight<\/em> dari Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta, dengan Qatar Air menuju Turki. Jam 05:35 tiba di Dhoha waktu setempat, transit sekitar 2 jam, dilanjutkan dengan flight<\/em> dari Dhoha jam 07:40 ke Istanbul. Jam 12:25 Tiba di Bandara Ataturk, Istanbul, Turki. Dijemput di Bandara Ataturk oleh mas Yoga, mahasiswa Indonesia yang studi di Istanbul. Mas Yoga sudah lulus studi B.Eng Teknik Penerbangan di Istanbul Teknik \u00dcniversitesi (ITU), kemudian melanjutkan Master program di Marmara University.<\/p>\n

Di Bandara Ataturk bersama mas Yoga, mahasiswa Indonesia Magister Marmara Univ.-Turki dan di depan papan petunjuk di kampus ITU.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dari Bandara Ataturk langsung diantar ke Dormitory di ITU, dan bertemu Prof. Ismail Helvacioglu, kawan lama saya, dulu sama-sama belajar di Glasgow University, UK, pada akhir tahun 1980 dan awal 1990an. Sekarang sebagai dekan FNAOE-ITU.<\/p>\n

Di kesempatan sore harinya, dapat bertemu Prof. Mehmet Atlar dari Univ. of Strathclyde, UK, mentor saya sewaktu studi program master di University of Glasgow tahun 1986-1988 dulu, dan Prof. Moustafa Abdel-Maksoud dari TUHH Hamburg, yang sempat saya kunjungi bersama Tim SIDI pada bulan Juni 2016. Mereka sama-sama datang ke Istanbul untuk menghadiri Kolokium AYO-COL 2018.<\/p>\n

Setelah cukup berjalan-jalan di sekitar serta menikmati pemandangan indah selat Bosphorus, pada malam harinya berkesempatan mengikuti jamuan makan malam bersama sejumlah peserta AYO-COL 2018, dengan menu seafood<\/em> khas Istanbul. Mendapat kesempatan mengenal dan berbincang singkat dengan beberapa peserta yang akan berseminar bersama esok hari.<\/p>\n

Sekilas tentang A. Y\u00fccel Odaba\u015fi Colloquium Series<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Disingkat AYO-COL, adalah acara colloquium yang diselenggarakan tiap 2 (dua) tahunan oleh Faculty of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering (FNAOE) \u2013 ITU – Turki, untuk memper\u00adingati\/penghormatan almarhum Prof. A. Y\u00fccel Odaba\u015fi (1945-2009), ilmuwan teknik perkapalan (khususnya bidang Hidrodinamika Kapal) yang dianggap sebagai perintis FNAOE-ITU.<\/p>\n

Kolokium ini diselenggarakan di Faculty of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering (FNAOE) \u2013 ITU \u2013 Turki, yang pertama diadakan tahun 2014 dengan tema \u201cPropeller Noise and Vibrations\u201d. Kemudian pada tahun 2016 Kolokium kedua bertemakan \u201cManeuvering of Ships and Submarines\u201d. Sedangkan kolokium ketiga tahun 2018 ini mengambil tema \u201cProgress in Propeller Cavitation and Its Consequences \u2013Experimental and Computational Methods for Predictions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pada kolokium ketiga ini akan dihadirkan 3 keynote speaker yaitu M. Abdel-Maksoud<\/strong> dengan paparan berjudul \u201cInvestigation of Scale Effects on Propeller Sheet and Tip Vortex Cavitation Based on Hybrid Simulation Methods\u201d, P. Brandner<\/strong> dengan materi presentasi \u201cDevelopments in Experimental Modelling of Two-Phase Flows in Naval Hydrodynamics\u201d, dan Y. L. Young<\/strong> dengan paparan \u201cMulti-functional Marine Structures:\u00a0 New Frontiers for Cavitating and Ventilating Flows?\u201d.\u00a0 Makalah ilmiah lainnya sejumlah 17 judul akan dipaparkan selama dua hari (15-16 Nov 2018) yang terbagi dalam 7 Sesi Paralel. Sekilas Prof. A. Y\u00fccel Odaba\u015fi:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prof. Odabasi adalah seorang sarjana Teknik Perkapalan lulusan ITU tahun 1967, dan lanjut menyelesaikan jenjang doktornya (Ph.D) pada tahun 1971. Setelah itu berkarir di Universitas Strathclyde UK dan menekuni bidang stabilitas kapal dengan mengaplikasikan Teori Lyapunov hingga mendapatkan penghargaan dari STAB (STAB Award), setelah wafatnya tahun 2009, atas reputasi Internasionalnya. Pada tahun 1974 bergabung dengan BSRA dengan kontribusi signifikan pada bidang hidrodinamika kapal khususnya aspek wake scaling. Kemudian pada 1988 pindah ke USA sebagai direktur dan CEO pertama di BMT International.<\/p>\n

Pada akhirnya beliau kembali ke ITU tahun 1991 dan berhasil menginspirasi banyak akademisi muda.\u00a0 Di saat yang sama beliau berhasil memimpin Turkish Lloyd hingga dikenal di seluruh dunia. Beliau mendapatkan medali emas oleh NECIES-UK, dan beberapa penghargaan lainnya dari NAVSEA, SNAME, dan BSRA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
