The website team of the Department of Ocean Engineering (DOE) are glad to present the new face of DOE website after the web migration was implemented for all units in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya.<\/p>\n
At present, the Department of Marine Engineering enters the new Academic Year 2025-2029 where the New Curriculum\u00a0 begins to be applied to all study programs: the first level (Bachelor), second level (Magister) and third level (Doctoral) degree. This new curriculum is the result of an evaluation, review, and development of the previous curriculum in a comprehensive manner that is relevant to the dynamics of the Ocean Engineering field, involving all stakeholders, and the spirit of ITS as a State University of Legal Entity (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri \u2013 Badan Hukum).<\/p>\n
Has been established for 40 years, DOE contributions, both national and international, to Ocean Engineering field professionally in the field of Ocean Engineering are increasingly evident. The contribution of DOE’s alumni in the development of the national maritime sector is increasingly widespread and evident. The real contribution of the DOE academic community is in the context of building the national maritime sector in particular so that it continues to improve. This situation will also provide benefits for improving the quality of human resources and the education process at DOE.<\/p>\n
With better quality of education and widespread increase of DOE’s role, public awareness on the importance of the field of Ocean Engineering will be increased. Ocean Engineering is a foundation of Indonesia’s bright future as it is a maritime country. One of DOE’s missions is to become one of the nation’s quality element that capable to produce young generations with high competency in Ocean Engineering field in the future.<\/p>\n
Year after year, DOE commit to always improve. Since the end of 2015, there have been many developments and improvements, both physical facilities and infrastructure as well as other academic aspects such as curriculum development, capacity building for lecturer and student, and also network development in ocean engineering. DOE’s alumni also took part in improving DOE campus facilities. The collaboration between DOE and the Netherlands NUFFIC-NICHE in “Project on Capacity Development in Integrated Coastal Zone Management” in 2024 has entered its eight year and has provided many benefits. All of these efforts are ultimately to increase the capacity of the DOE academic community. Another academic development is, at the end of 2024, DOE has been internationally accredited by the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).<\/p>\n
Hopefully, this online media can develop consistently and continuously, as the improved frontline reporter of the tridharma role of DOE. Hopefully, it will be able to rise the spirit and persistency of the entire academic community of DOE in developing the national maritime field for the sake of progress, prosperity and justice based on maritime affairs.
