Ergonomics and Work System Design Laboratory

Ergonomics and Work System Design Laboratory of DTSI

The Ergonomics and Work System Design Laboratory focuses on conducting teaching, research activities, and community services in the field of ergonomics/human factors and occupational health and safety engineering. Regarding International Ergonomics Association, ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, that applies theory, principles, data, and methods to design to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. The research areas of the laboratory cover product design and development, job/method design, workload and cost analysis, macro-ergonomics, facility layout design, occupational safety and health, environmental aspects in ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, and virtual/augmented reality. The laboratory is equipped with facilities such as Tobii eye tracker, HTC Vive HMD VR device, and heart rate monitors to support all the laboratory activities.
