Become an international education program in the utilization and development of science and survey mapping technology to support geospatial information industry and natural resources management with an environmental perspective

Mission

The mission of the Department of Geomatics Engineering covers aspects of education, research, and community service (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi), namely:

  1. Organizes the process of geomatics engineering field competency-based education and teaching field;
  2. Carry out quality research in the utilization and development of geomatics science and technology to support the dissemination of geospatial information;
  3. Improve the capability of geospatial information utilization and management for community and geospatial industry; and
  4. Establish strategic partnerships with various government and private agencies both national and international

Objectives

  1. To develop students become Bachelors of Geomatics Engineering who have academic and professional skills in the application and development of science and technology in geospatial information management field.
  2. To create proficient and skilled bachelor of Geomatics Engineering in mastership of surveying and mapping technology based on geospatial information technology in order to support development in information and globalization era.
  3. To develop and disseminate sciences and technology in geospatial information management field and to use it for the people welfare in order to enrich the national culture.
  4. To produce graduates whom able to develop themselves and their career as professionals, bureaucrats, and entrepreneur.

Expected Learning Outcome

  1. Able to apply mathematics, science, and engineering knowledge in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrography, remote sensing, photogrammetry, geographic information systems, and cadastral to gain a thorough understanding of the engineering principle.
  2. Able to design survey and mapping activities using the latest technology in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrographic, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and cadastral.
  3. Able to identify, formulate, analyze and solve problems in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrographic, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and cadastral.
  4. Able to perform spatial data acquisition using modern measurement methods, geospatial data processing, using industry standard software, and making standard designs and analyzes in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrography, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and cadastral
  5. Able to apply information & communication technology and the latest technological developments in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrographic, remote sensing, photogrammetry, geographic information systems, and cadastral
  6. Able to compile scientific reports and provide solutions based on leadership, creativity and communication skills and being responsible for the work done
  7. Able to plan, perform and evaluate the process of surveying and mapping activities using the latest technology in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrographic, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and cadastral

Profile of Mandiri Professional

Graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Study Program are expected to have the ability;

  • Applying theoretical concepts in the fields of geodesy, surveying, hydrography, remote sensing, photogrammetry, geographic information systems, and cadastres;
  • Applying the concepts of information and communication technology and knowing the latest technological developments in the field of geomatics;
  • Applying the management and entrepreneurship concepts and technology-based innovation;
  • Providing solutions based on leadership, creativity and communication skills as well as take responsibility for the work done;
  • Planning, implementing and evaluate the process of surveying and mapping activities using geodesy, surveying, hydrographic, remote sensing, photogrammetric, and cadastral technology;
  • Designing survey and mapping activities using geodesy, surveying, hydrographic, remote sensing, photogrammetric, and cadastral technology;
  • work in teams, have professional skills, professional ethics, integrity and high responsibility to develop themselves and compete at the national as well as international level;

The formulation of the independent professional profile of the Bachelor Study Program of Geomatics Engineering also considers the needs of Indonesian professional human resources in implementing the One Map Policy in the provision of geospatial information, which is needed in planning, developing, utilizing, and monitoring in all fields. Therefore, the determination of an independent professional profile is tailored to the individual needs and demands of the graduate user. In general, there are 5 (five) main areas of study program graduates which are reflected in the division of laboratory competencies, namely:
