Interviewed by TF Media at Tuesday, August 28th 2018, Fadhel Islamy Husada, the soon to-be graduate of ITS looks excited.\u00a0 He carries some books to be put on the Photonics Engineering Laboratory. &#8220;Yes, it was gift from SPIE to be used in the student chapter.&#8221; He said. It`s not just book he brought home, a million experience and knowledge is ready to be shared.<\/p>\n<p>Fadhel has attended SPIE international conference\u00a0in\u00a0San Diego, California at August 18-23, 2018. Some events including\u00a0Student Leadership Workshop, student chapter exhibition,\u00a0plenary session, industrial fair, until\u00a0job fair, all in photonics-related, was present. This conference is the annual big event held by\u00a0Society of Photo-optical Instrumentation Engineers\u00a0(SPIE) to nurture the development of optics and photonis around the globe. &#8220;In plenary session, there are lots of topics discussed, like\u00a0\u00a0nanoscience, optical engineering, and others.&#8221; Fadhel said.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4166 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tfisika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2018\/10\/fadhel2-300x146.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tfisika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2018\/10\/fadhel2-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tfisika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2018\/10\/fadhel2-768x373.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tfisika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2018\/10\/fadhel2-1024x498.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tfisika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2018\/10\/fadhel2-355x173.jpg 355w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tfisika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2018\/10\/fadhel2.jpg 1835w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fadhel is the representation of SPIE ITS Student Chapter, might as well the representation of Indonesia because the ITS Student Chapter is the only one in Indonesia at the moment.\u00a0SPIE ITS Student Chapter is located in Photonics Engineering Laboratory, Department of Engineering Physics ITS.<\/p>\n<p>Fadhel tell us the experience he had during the conference. &#8220;at August 18, there is\u00a0<em>student leadership workshop<\/em>, then continued by career workshop,\u00a0<em>how to write a good scientific paper<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>how to make a good presentation. It was awesome. The third day, in poster presentation, I have to report my chapter activity.&#8221; He learns a lot about managerial. &#8220;The next step sure will be fixing the system in my chapter, to make it better. I believe there are many unused potential in this chapter and it will be a loss if each member doesn`t get the full benefit.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Big opportunities awaits Fadhel as he got contacts of universities overseas that might offer him a scholarship.
