Teknik Fisika lahir untuk menjawab tantangan perkembangan sains dan teknologi dalam berbagai bidang yang membutuhkan engineer dengan dasar sains teoritis yang kuat disertai kemampuan bekerja dalam multi-disiplin ilmu.<\/p>\n<p>Diasosiasikan sebagai sebuah disiplin ilmu yang menghubungkan antara\u00a0<em>basic science\u00a0<\/em>dengan\u00a0<em>engineering<\/em>, Teknik Fisika memiliki cakupan ilmu yang sangat luas mulai dari hulu hingga hilir, meliputi segala proses sejak konsep hingga terciptalah suatu produk teknologi. Pengajaran Teknik Fisika meliputi lmu sains dasar seperti matematika, fisika, kimia, dan statistika yang dikombinasikan dengan materi-materi keteknikan dari berbagai bidang (teknik elektro, teknik mesin, teknik material, dan teknik kimia). Lulusan teknik fisika diharapkan mampu memecahkan permasalahan dan menghasilkan karya inovatif dalam bidang teknologi pada saat ini maupun di masa mendatang berdasarkan analisis dan metode ilmiah. Peserta didik di Departemen Teknik Fisika ITS dibekali dengan kemampuan riset dan pengembangan, serta perancangan dan analisa untuk berbagai\u00a0sistem\u00a0fisis\u00a0di\u00a0Industri, dengan peminatan dalam bidang:\u00a0Instrumentasi dan Kontrol,\u00a0Rekayasa Energi dan Pengkondisian Lingkungan, Rekayasa Bahan, Vibrasi dan Akustik, dan Rekayasa Fotonika.[\/vc_column_text][dot_box_grey title=&#8221;Program Studi Teknik Fisika&#8221;][\/dot_box_grey][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1593571997064{margin-top: 50px !important;}&#8221;]Departemen Teknik Fisika menerima mahasiswa untuk tiga program studi utama, yaitu :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Program Studi Sarjana (S1) Teknik Fisika (jalur Reguler dan Lintas Jalur)<\/li>\n<li>Program Studi Magister (S2) Teknik Fisika, dan<\/li>\n<li>Program Studi Doktor (S3)\u00a0Teknik Fisika<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tahun 2009-2011 Departemen Teknik Fisika FT-IRS ITS ditunjuk oleh ITS sebagai salah satu Departemen yang melaksanakan Program Hibah Kompetisi Institusi (PHKI) Tema B. Penunjukkan oleh ITS didasarkan pada kinerja yang telah dicapai oleh Departemen Teknik Fisika FT-IRS ITS selama ini.
