Namun, mahasiswa dimungkinkan untuk lulus lebih cepat dengan mengambil beban mata kuliah melebihi beban standar, sesuai dengan kapasitas masing-masing mahasiswa pada setiap semester.<\/p>\n

Pada semester ke-6, mahasiswa dapat mengambil mata kuliah pilihan sesuai dengan bidang minat yang diinginkan. Mata kuliah pilihan dapat berasal dari satu kelompok minat saja untuk memperdalam pengetahuan mahasiswa pada bidang tertentu, atau dapat berasal dari beberapa kelompok bidang minat yang berbeda untuk memperluas wawasan dan pengetahuan mereka.<\/p>\n

Kurikulum Program Sarjana yang saat ini digunakan di Departemen Teknik Elektro merupakan kurikulum baru yang diberlakukan mulai tahun akademik 2018\/2019 hingga 2022\/2023. Dalam kurikulum ini, jumlah total SKS normal yang harus ditempuh oleh mahasiswa adalah 144 SKS. Kegiatan perkuliahan dan praktikum dilaksanakan dalam satu mata kuliah dengan beban 3\u20134 SKS. Kegiatan dapat dilaksanakan di ruang kelas maupun di laboratorium. Kegiatan perkuliahan bertujuan untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan pemahaman konsep ilmu pengetahuan\/teknologi, sedangkan kegiatan praktikum digunakan untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan praktis.<\/p>\n

Pengalaman praktik lain yang wajib diikuti oleh mahasiswa adalah Kerja Praktik di industri selama 1 hingga 3 bulan dengan beban 2 SKS. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperluas pengetahuan mahasiswa mengenai penerapan teori yang diperoleh dari perkuliahan. Pada tahap akhir, mahasiswa menempuh Tugas Akhir dengan beban 4 SKS. Tugas Akhir dimaksudkan untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan kemampuan menyelesaikan permasalahan tertentu sesuai dengan bidang keahlian serta menyusun laporan ilmiah.
