SDG 7: AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY

“After water and food, energy is one of the key enablers of human life. Energy is central to nearly every major challenge and opportunity the world faces today and access to energy for all is essential. But energy needs to be available and affordable to all to allow future development, and it needs to be clean in order to ensure that the development can be sustainable.”

Energy consumption reduction

ITS ulitizes the renewable energy to reduce the consumption of electricity, such as natural lighting and natural ventilation. The concept of natural lighting is applied through windows, large window openings, transparent roof and wall materials. By now, almost every building in ITS has been applied this method.

Energy Consumption Reduction

Sustainable commuting practices

ITS provides more than three steps to help its students reduce using private vehicle. ITS encourage all students, lectures, staff, to travel by bicycle or walking. ITS even collaborates with Surabaya Government to initiate the Suroboyo Bus route to stopping by ITS Campus.
