Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through international learning environment, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) held an international guest lecture series entitled Guest Lecture Series (GLS) on SDGs. ITS became the first university in Indonesia conducting guest lecture on United Nations’ SDGs. Based on the necessity for students to understand the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations, this program aims to fulfil their needs in comprehending and applying Sustainable Development Goals. The lecture is delivered by lecturers, NGO, experts, and academics from around the world.

This program was held in March, May, and June 2022. Each series of GLS on SDGs focused on three different aspects:

1. Concept and principle in March 2022
2. Practice and policy in May 2022
3. Actions in June 2022

In the GLS SDGs Spring 2022, we had 7 speakers from various countries delivering online guest lectures to more than 1000 ITS students and 900 international participants. The participants were spread around the world and gathered virtually for this program.

The GLS SDGs conducted by ITS is not merely an educational initiative; it is a transformative experience that shapes the mindset and aspirations of students. By raising awareness, inspiring action, and fostering a sense of global citizenship, GLS equips students with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to address the pressing challenges of our time. As these empowered students graduate and enter the workforce, they are deeply committed to sustainability, ensuring a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come. ITS’s GLS on SDGs stands as a beacon of inspiration, guiding the way towards a world where education becomes the cornerstone of sustainable development.
