    Welcome to the official landing page of the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS) – ITS. This landing page will provide global information on FTIRS – ITS which includes the list departments, resources, as well as activities carried out by the academic community of FTIRS – ITS. As one of the largest faculties in ITS, FTIRS always strives to contribute to the development of science and technology and to take part in the development of the nation, especially Indonesia’s welfare.

    History of the FACULTY OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING ITS

    • Year 1954

      Ir. Soendjasmono (representative of the East Java PII) sparked the idea to establish an engineering-based university in East Java during the PII CONFERENCE in Bogor.

    • Year 1957
      • Re-establishment of the idea to form a Foundation of the Engineering-based Higher Education in Lustrum I PII at East Java.
      • August 17, 1957; FOUNDATION OF THE ENGINEERING HIGHER EDUCATION (YPTT) was formed in Surabaya.
      • November 10, 1957; YPTT successfully established the 10 NOPEMBER ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY SURABAYA.

    • Year 1960
      • November 3, 1960; 10 NOPEMBER ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY SURABAYA changed its name to 10 NOPEMBER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY as a state university.
      • 10 NOPEMBER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY then changed its name again to SEPULUH NOPEMBER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (ITS).

    • Year 1981

      The Faculty of Industrial Technology consists of the following majors:

      • Mechanical Engineering
      • Electrical Engineering
      • Chemical Engineering
      • Physics Engineering

    • Year 1985

      FTI established 2 new study programs, namely Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering.

    • Year 1994

      The study programs of Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering changed its status into the Industrial Engineering Department and Computer Engineering Department.

      There are 5 (five) Master Programs offered by FTI, namely:

      • Mechanical Engineering
      • Electrical Engineering
      • Chemical Engineering
      • Industrial Engineering
      • Informatics Engineering

    • Year 1991

      In accordance with the SK Mendikbud No.1213/O/1991, FTI was to manage 3 (three) D-3 (diploma) programs, namely Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.

    • Year 1995

      FTI formed another D-3 program, namely Physics Engineering – Instrumentation and changed D-3 (diploma) Electrical Engineering to D-3 Electrical Engineering – Computer Control.

    • Year 1997

      The Faculty of Industrial Technology – ITS, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower, developed 2 (two) study programs of the D-3 (diploma) level, namely Industrial and Electrical Machinery.

    • Year 1996

      In order to improve the quality of Indonesia’s Human Resources, especially the workforce in Indonesia as well as the distribution of education in the Eastern Indonesia region, the Faculty of Industrial Technology – ITS presented opportunities for workers to study at ITS through the Extension Education Program. Thus, there are 4 (four) extension management programs in FTI, namely:

      • Mechanical Engineering
      • Electrical Engineering
      • Chemical Engineering
      • Industrial Engineering

    • Year 1999

      FTI – ITS developed a new study program of the S-1 (undergraduate) level, Material Engineering.

    • Year 2020

      The Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI) changed its name to the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS).

    • Year 2001

      The Extension Education Program for Physical Engineering and Informatics Engineering was opened in 2000/2001, as well as the D-3 (diploma) Chemical Engineering Extension that opened in the same year.
