Organizational Structure of the Faculty of Electrical Technology ITS
The Department of Electrical Engineering FTE-ITS was established in 1960, together with the inauguration of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, by the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. Soekarno. Briefly the history of the journey of the Department of Electrical Engineering FTE-ITS can be summarized as follows:
Named the Department of Electrical Engineering, led by the Chair of the Department which is the Institute’s Presidium, consisting of:
The Department of Electrical Engineering changed its name to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the leadership:
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering continues to develop with various initials having 2 strong current and weak flow study programs, developing into 11 study programs and then changing again into five study programs.
Is a period of transition due to the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 58 of 1982 concerning changes in faculty structure at ITS. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering changed its name to the Department of Electrical Engineering and was under the Faculty of Industrial Technology along with several other majors.
The Department of Electrical Engineering continues to improve and develop with a composition of five fields of study, namely Power Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Regulatory System Engineering and Computer Engineering. In 1986, the Field of Computer Engineering Study turned into a Computer Engineering study program. The Computer Engineering Study Program was the forerunner of the establishment of the Information Technology Faculty, which was then inaugurated based on the Chancellor’s Decree on June 14, 2001. Meanwhile in the Electrical Engineering Department there is still a field of Computer Engineering studies that emphasizes computer field competencies related to hardware.
The Department of Electrical Engineering continues to develop following scientific developments with changes in the field of computers to Computer and Telematics Engineering.
The Department of Electrical Engineering continues to improve and develop with changing compositions, consisting of Power Systems Engineering, Multimedia Telecommunications, Electronics, Regulatory System Engineering and additional Multimedia and Network Engineering Study Programs and Biomedical Engineering Study Programs. In 2012, the Field of Computer Engineering and Telematics changed to Multimedia and Network Engineering study program, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 382 / E / O / 2012.In 2013, based on the assignment of the Directorate General of Higher Education No. 221 / E / DT / 2013, on March 20, 2013 the Department of Electrical Engineering received the mandate to prepare the Biomedical Engineering Study Program. This study program began operations in 2015 based on Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Decree No. 102 / M / Kep / 2015, dated March 30, 2015. The Biomedical Engineering Study Program of ITS has accepted new students for the 2015/2016 academic year through the completion of the entry of new ITS partnerships and independent programs (PKM). The study program consists of 10 lecturers whose composition consists of 1 (one) professor, 2 (two) Doctors, and 7 (seven) masters. On January 2017 based on Government Regulation No. 54 of 2015 and Chancellor Regulation No. 10 of 2016, the D3 Electrical Engineering study program became the Department of Electrical Automation Engineering under the Vocational Faculty.
The Faculty of Electrical Technology (FTE) ITS has been running since January 2017 based on Government Regulation No. 54 of 2015 and Chancellor Regulation No. 10 in 2016. The Faculty of Electrical Technology manages 3 Departments, namely:
