      COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, has been identified as the cause of a respiratory disease outbreak that has infected numerous countries worldwide and resulted in many deaths. In Indonesia, the virus has infected hundreds of people and caused several fatalities, including two specialist doctors and one nurse who contracted the virus while treating patients. Like other infectious diseases, healthcare workers are at high risk when caring for patients with contagious infections. This situation is detrimental to a country’s healthcare system because medical personnel, who should be at the forefront of patient care, can become patients themselves by contracting the virus from others. This ultimately leads to a shortage of healthcare workers to handle epidemic and pandemic cases, such as COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      This research proposes the development of a service robot system that can be used by healthcare professionals to provide care to patients with a high risk of transmission. The invention is related to a multifunctional service robot system that can be utilized by healthcare workers to continue providing services to infectious patients, such as those with COVID-19, who have a high risk of transmission. This service robot system can perform different functions by adding hardware and software modules. The multifunctional service robot system has a main platform\/base robot platform driven by four omni wheels with four gearbox motors as the main actuators. This design aims to enhance the base platform’s ability to move with a load of up to 50 kg in addition to the robot’s weight. It also improves the robot’s acceleration and maneuvering capabilities to accommodate movement in eight wind directions, considering that the areas to be traversed are the same areas with high mobility for human\/paramedic activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      In the first year, this research proposes the development of a service robot to deliver logistics to patients, controlled remotely by experienced medical personnel. In the second year, the development of an automatically serving robot for patients is proposed. This approach involves integrating various sensors placed on the robot and in the patient’s room. With the presence of these patient service robots, it is hoped that healthcare professionals can continue to serve patients while minimizing direct contact.<\/span><\/p>\n
