In order to improve the quality and competitiveness of human resources, STP Automotive held offline and online ANSYS software training while also abiding by strict health protocols, on 11, 14, and 15 January 2021. This event was proposed by Dr. Bambang Sudarmanta S.T., M.T. as the the Cluster Manager of STP Automotive and Ir. Julendra Bambang Ariatedja M.T., ITS Mechanical Engineering Department lecturer. ANSYS is a product of ANSYS Inc., generally used for Simulation and Engineering Design of 3D products. ANSYS works using the Finite Elements Analysis method where the analysis of an object is done by breaking the object into a mesh of small parts (finite elements) and connected by nodes.
The goal of this training was for students to be able to better adapt to engineering research environment conducted by academics, where ANSYS software is very commonly used for engineering simulations, such as CFD, temperature distribution, structural strength, and many others. The training was held in the CAE Lab of STP Automotive Building, which is equipped with computers with adequate specs to sustain the work of ANSYS Software. This laboratory is also often used for student activities, such as internships or final assignments from various departments. STP Automotive Manager, Dr. Bambang Sudarmanta S.T., M.T. also added that student trainings like this are planned to be held more often by STP Otomotif in the future, especially after the pandemic period is over, and teaching and learning activities return to normal.
