Departemen Teknik Sistem Perkapalan bertujuan mencetak profesional dan akademisi muda yang mempunyai kemampuan dalam perancangan instalasi, manajerial, serta perawatan kapal dan anjungan lepas pantai. Tak hanya disuguhkan pada teori, mahasiswa juga dibiasakan untuk menyelesaikan problematika nyata dalam industri maupun masyarakat. Teknik Sistem Perkapalan ITS berkonsentrasi pada perencanaan dan pembangunan berbagai sistem yang ada di kapal maupun anjungan lepas pantai. Sistem-sistem tersebut meliputi sistem permesinan, propulsi, perpipaan, kelistrikan, pengendalian dan automatisasi.<\/p>\n

Selain meningkatkan ilmu perihal bidang teknik sistem perkapalan, mahasiswa juga belajar untuk menjadi kreatif dan inovatif, memiliki sifat kepemimpinan, terintegrasi, serta dapat bekerja dengan baik dalam sebuah tim. Departemen Teknik Sistem Perkapalan memiliki misi untuk memberikan kualitas pendidikan yang sangat baik dalam hal sistem informasi, mengembangkan dan menerapkan sistem informasi yang dapat bermanfaat untuk masyarakat dan negara, serta memberikan kepuasan dan kesejahteraan kepada sivitas Teknik Sistem Perkapalan.<\/p>\n
