The Department of Information Systems<\/strong> welcomed an international visiting professor, Professor Robert M. Davison<\/strong> from the Department of Information Systems, City University of Hong Kong<\/strong>, during 27\u201330 January 2026<\/strong>. This academic visit was part of the department\u2019s ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration and enhance research quality and publication capacity among faculty members and students.<\/p>\n

Professor Robert M. Davison arrived in Surabaya on Tuesday, 27 January 2026<\/strong>, and was officially received by representatives of the Department of Information Systems. Throughout his visit, a series of academic activities were conducted in accordance with the attached schedule, including public lectures, research workshops, academic discussions, and mentoring sessions on journal publication<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, 28 January 2026<\/strong>, Professor Davison delivered a public lecture entitled \u201cPublishing in a Reputable Journal: An Editor\u2019s Perspective\u201d<\/strong>, attended by lecturers and students. This session provided valuable insights into the journal publication process from the viewpoint of an editor of leading international journals. The activities continued with a Workshop on Qualitative Research Methods<\/strong>, aimed at strengthening participants\u2019 understanding of qualitative research design and execution.<\/p>\n

Further activities took place on Thursday and Friday, 29\u201330 January 2026<\/strong>, including meetings with the Dean and Head of Department, as well as intensive workshops focused on the review and revision of academic papers for PACIS submissions<\/strong>. These sessions were designed to improve the quality of research outputs and increase the likelihood of acceptance in reputable international conferences and journals.<\/p>\n

Through this academic visit, the Department of Information Systems expects to enhance international academic networking<\/strong>, improve the research and publication competencies of its academic community, and encourage high-quality, impactful research contributions at the global level.<\/p>\n
