Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) of ITS is established given the need for a degree in urban and regional planning subject, and to fulfill the needs of Eastern Indonesia, especially in this current autonomy. ITS PWK Studies Program consists of several main courses such as Theory and Process Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban and Regional Infrastructure, Economic Regions and Cities Economy, Transport, Urban Management, Coastal Zone Planning, City Design, Analysis and Planning.

Alumni of PWK ITS have competency in Spatial Planning (scale National, Regional, Provincial, District, City, Special Areas), Design of Cities (building and environmental layout, structuring corridor master plan), Sectoral Planning (Development Plan for Transport, Tourism , Coastal, Industry, Settlement, Trade, etc.), Urban Management Studies (Management of Land, Environment), Development Policy and Strategy development (sectoral Integration program, preparing indicative sectoral program, the long-term development plans and short-term), Preparation of spatial information systems (GIS for layout and sectoral analysis).

By having these capabilities, PWK ITS graduates are qualified to work in government agencies, development consultants, planning consultants, developers, NGOs, professors and researchers at universities. Several achievements in both the scientific arena of race and national papers and International students have been achieved by PWK ITS. Recently, PWK ITS has won a National Champion in Creative Green Spaces Competition organized by the Directorate General of Spatial Planning Ministry Public Works Affairs in November 2012.
