  1. Indonesia is the largest ARCHIPELAGO COUNTRY in the world with almost 2\/3 of its territory in form of waters. This destiny is actually the basic capital for economic development and improving the welfare of its people;<\/li>\n
  2. As a maritime country, some of the great challenges of the Indonesian nation that still demand a comprehensive solution include: economic equality in the West and East Indonesia, the National Logistics System, the strengthening of integrated National Connectivity and others. Sea Transportation is one sector that can contribute to minimizing the problems above;<\/li>\n
  3. The Potential of the Indonesian Maritime Sector is Very Large, so that the Prospect of a Career in the maritime field (shipping, port and maritime logistics) is very broad and promising;<\/li>\n
  4. The current vision of the Indonesian Government is to become the world’s maritime axis;<\/li>\n
  5. In supporting the government’s vision and optimum utilization of Indonesia’s destiny as a maritime nation, the nation’s sons and daughters are superior and competitive with special potential in the Maritime Sector, especially Sea Transportation.<\/li>\n
  6. ITS as the largest technical college in the eastern part of Indonesia, has been declared as the center of national maritime development. This has been stated in the vision of ITS, namely: “Becoming a university with an international reputation in science and technology, especially those that support industry and environmentally friendly MARINE.”<\/li>\n
  7. The Department of Marine Transportation Engineering is the first institution of education in the field of Sea Transportation Engineering in Indonesia and has received an “A” Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
