Surabaya, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to strengthen the national halal ecosystem through the 21st Halal Supervisor Training, held on 11–13 August 2026 at the DRPM Meeting Room, Research Centre Building, 5th Floor, ITS. The training was attended by 25 participants from various educational institutions, industries, halal institutions, and business sectors.
The program aimed to enhance participants’ competencies as Halal Supervisors, particularly in implementing the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH), preparing halal documentation, monitoring halal production processes, and supporting halal certification procedures.
Participants came from various organizations, including Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universitas Brawijaya, LSH PW ISNU East Java, PT Kosena Lestari Makmur, PT Exin Trans Jaya, ITS Vocational Canteen, PT Icon Plus, PT Langgeng Makmur Industri Tbk, CV Transindo Innovative Aroma, PT Powerpack Industrial Solution, EBES Cafe, Bakso Pak Parlin, and RPU Dua Bersaudara.
On the first day, participants received training on Regulations and Scope of Halal Product Assurance delivered by Prof. Setiyo Gunawan, S.T., Ph.D., IPM, followed by Halal-Haram Concepts and Halal Product Fatwa presented by Ahmad Mukhlason, S.Kom., M.Sc., Ph.D.. The session also introduced the fundamentals of the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) delivered by Dr. Fahmi, S.T.
The second day focused on strengthening practical skills required by Halal Supervisors, including advanced SJPH implementation, preparation of SJPH manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, halal ingredient documentation, and monitoring of halal materials, processes, and products. These sessions were delivered by Dr. Orchidea Rachmaniah, S.T., M.T., Ahmad Mukhlason, S.Kom., M.Sc., Ph.D., Badril Azhar, Ir., S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Dr. Yeni Rahmawati, S.T., M.T.
On the final day, participants learned about handling products that do not meet halal criteria, conducting internal SJPH audits, evaluating corrective actions, and practicing the use of the SIHALAL (Halal Information System) platform for halal certification processes. The sessions were delivered by Siti Nurkhamidah, S.T., M.S., Ph.D., Dr.rer.nat. Nasori, Dr. Fahmi, S.T., and Ulfah Lailatul K., S.T., M.T.
Through this 20-hour training program, ITS expects participants to become competent Halal Supervisors who can consistently implement SJPH and contribute to the growth of the halal industry across various sectors.
This program represents ITS’s commitment to supporting the acceleration of halal certification and developing professional, competitive halal human resources at the national level.
