A change in role isn\u2019t just about taking on a different job, but also about having the courage to learn, adapt, and keep growing. This story is the focus of a podcast by the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Library titled <em>\u201cFrom Security to the Library: A Journey of Facing Challenges, Learning New Things, and Taking on Different Responsibilities,\u201d<\/em> which was broadcast live on the ITS Library\u2019s YouTube channel on Thursday (Oct. 15).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This podcast features Mochammad Farid, a member of the General Administration staff at the ITS Library, as the guest, with Asri Fatihatus Syafira, S.I.Pust., an ITS librarian, as the host. Through this conversation, Farid shares his career journey, from serving as a campus security officer (SKK) to transitioning to a role within the library, where he now holds responsibilities in general administration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This journey illustrates how work experience in one field can serve as a valuable foundation when someone takes on new responsibilities. While working as a security officer, Farid played a role in maintaining order, safety, and comfort on campus. That experience helped instill discipline, a sense of responsibility, and a service-oriented attitude\u2014qualities that remain relevant as he takes on his next role.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A change in job responsibilities certainly presents its own challenges. Transitioning from fieldwork to administrative duties requires a process of adaptation, a willingness to learn new things, and the courage to ask questions when facing difficulties. Farid needs to adjust to a different work rhythm while also learning various administrative tasks, such as managing office administration, drafting proposal letters, and supporting the operations of the ITS Library.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In this process, an open attitude toward learning is one of the most important assets. The ability to keep learning and not hesitate to ask for guidance helps a person gradually come to understand their new responsibilities. This experience also shows that the process of growth does not always take place in easy situations, but it can begin with a willingness to try and improve oneself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On the other hand, Farid\u2019s journey also illustrates the importance of a work environment that supports each individual\u2019s growth. The support, trust, and guidance from his coworkers were part of the adaptation process that helped him navigate his new role. A collaborative work environment provides space for every team member to learn from one another and contribute according to their respective responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Through this podcast, the ITS Library invites listeners to view their career journeys from a broader perspective. Every job has its own value and contribution, while opportunities for growth can arise from a variety of experiences that aren\u2019t always predictable. One\u2019s professional background is not a barrier to learning new skills and taking on different responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mochammad Farid\u2019s story serves as a reminder that dedication is demonstrated not only by the length of time someone has been working, but also by their willingness to continue learning, adapting, and giving their best in every role. After all, a professional journey is not merely about changing positions, but also about the process of growing as an individual who is ready to face new challenges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Through this podcast series, the ITS Library continues to share inspiring stories from the people behind the library\u2019s services.
