The development of high-quality human resources cannot be separated from the rapid development of Mathematics. Since 2004, the Master&#8217;s Program in Mathematics has been trusted by DIKMENJUR to improve the capabilities of vocational high school (SMK) teachers and vocational teacher trainers through this Master&#8217;s in Mathematics program.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Mathematics under the auspices of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) opened the Mathematics Master&#8217;s (S-2) study program starting in the 2004\/2005 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>Supported by 19 teaching staff with qualifications: 1 Professor, 4 Doctors, and 14 Masters. Supporting facilities available are as follows: Classrooms, 2 Laboratories, Mathematics Studio, Reading Room with more than 2000 literature items, international scientific journals, national scientific journals, including Internet connection, Discussion Room, as well as other facilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Education in the Mathematics Master&#8217;s Program aims to increase the level of mastery of science and capability in the field of mathematics and its applications so that alumni of the ITS Master&#8217;s in Mathematics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess high integrity responsive to changes and advances in science and technology.<\/li>\n<li>Have the ability in Mathematics to pursue further educational programs.<\/li>\n<li>Have the ability to advance their profession and help solve problems in society through research and development.<\/li>\n<li>Are able to contribute professionally to solving problems that arise in the industrial sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fields of Interest<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Mathematics Study Program offers 2 groups of choices for fields of interest, namely:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MODELING AND COMPUTATION,<\/strong> Able to bring engineering or industrial problems and natural phenomena into mathematical models and solve them analytically as well as numerically.<\/li>\n<li><strong>APPLIED ANALYSIS,<\/strong> Able to understand problems arising in the field of mathematics and develop them to be applied to mathematics or other scientific fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Academic Activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Master&#8217;s (S-2) Program in Mathematics is conducted over 4 semesters (2 years), with a maximum study period limit of 4 years. The minimum credit load is 40 credits (SKS), including a thesis in accordance with the curriculum. The academic calendar for semester I begins in early September, while semester II starts in early February and ends in June.
