The Department of Electrical Engineering under the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) opened the Electrical Engineering Master's (S-2) Study Program starting in the 1993/1994 academic year. From the 1993/1994 academic year to the 2004/2005 academic year, it has graduated 266 alumni out of 1,065 enrolled students. Starting from the 2005/2006 academic year, the Doctoral Program was opened.
Since 2005, PPS-TE has become one of the main components in inter-laboratory cooperation between ITS and several universities in Japan within the framework of the PREDICT project funded by the Japanese government. Starting from the 2004/2005 academic year, Master's program participants could take advantage of the opportunity to participate in a sandwich program between ITS and FH Darmstadt-University of Applied Sciences (Germany). Other established collaborations include Oulu University (Finland) through the FIND project, PT PLN in the field of Electrical Power Distribution System Management, PPT Migas Cepu in Power System Engineering, and PPGT VEDC in Mechatronics. Since 2005, PPS-TE has also accepted international students.
Supported by 52 academic staff with qualifications: 6 Professors, 17 Doctors, and 29 Masters. Available supporting facilities include: Classrooms, 15 Laboratories, Computing Room, 2 Seminar Rooms, a Reading Room with more than 6,000 library materials, 18 international scientific journals, seminar forums, Internet connection, and other facilities.
Objectives
Education in the ITS Electrical Engineering Master's Program aims to increase the level of mastery of knowledge and skills of its participants in the field of Electrical Engineering. After completing their education, program participants are expected to possess academic and professional capabilities that can be utilized independently in developing electrical science and technology in education, research, and industry.

The Electrical Engineering Study Program has 6 fields of interest that students can choose according to their talents and abilities, including:
- POWER SYSTEM ENGINEERING, In this field, specialization in Power System Control is developed
- CONTROL SYSTEM ENGINEERING, In this field, specialization in Control System Analysis and Design is developed
- MULTIMEDIA TELECOMMUNICATIONS, In this field, specialization in Telecommunication Systems and Networks is developed
- MULTIMEDIA SMART NETWORKS, In this field, specialization in Multimedia Smart Networks and Game Technology is developed
- ELECTRONICS, In this field, specialization in Electronic Systems Analysis and Design in Biomedical and Industrial fields is developed
- TELEMATICS, In this field, specialization in Telecommunications and Informatics is developed
Academic Activities
The Electrical Engineering Master's Program is conducted over 4 semesters (2 years), with a maximum study period limit of 4 years. The total credit load is 40 credits (sks), consisting of 31 credits of mandatory and elective courses and 9 credits of thesis according to the curriculum. The academic calendar for Semester I begins in early September, while Semester II begins in early February and ends in June.
The Electrical Engineering Doctoral Program is conducted over 4 semesters (2 years), with a maximum study period limit of 4 years. The total credit load is 40 credits (sks), consisting of 28 credits of core competencies and 12 credits of supporting competencies according to the curriculum. Core competency courses include dissertation activities covering research and publication in at least 2 accredited journals or 1 publication in an international journal, and a final examination in the form of a seminar defending the dissertation before a board of examiners.
The Electrical Engineering Doctoral Program offers 8 research fields: Electric Drive, Power System Dynamics, Intelligent Systems, Multimedia Telecommunications, Applied Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Control Engineering, and Computer Engineering.
