The Department of Architecture under the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP) opened the Architecture Master's (S-2) Study Program starting in the 1993/1994 academic year. From the 1993/1994 academic year to the 2004/2005 academic year, it has graduated 278 alumni out of 888 enrolled students. Starting from the 2001/2002 academic year, the Doctoral Program in Architecture was opened.
In developing the study program, the Department of Architecture collaborates with Univ. of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), DPU Univ. College London (UCL-UK), Univ. of Manchester (UK), Univ. of Melbourne (Australia), and Univ. of Kyoto (Japan). The collaboration takes the form of guest lectures, joint research, and other academic activities for the advancement of science and knowledge.
Supported by 44 academic staff with qualifications: 4 Professors, 8 Doctors, and 32 Masters. Available supporting facilities include: Classrooms, 10 Laboratories, a Reading Room with more than 6,000 library materials, 18 international scientific journals, Internet connection, and other facilities.
Objectives
The objective of the Architecture Postgraduate Education Program is to increase the level of mastery of knowledge acquired during undergraduate education so that graduates have the ability to:
• Participate in the development of the field of architecture and keep up with recent developments domestically and abroad.
• Formulate approaches to solving various problems through scientific reasoning.
• Enhance professional services through research and development.
• Develop professional capabilities in a broader spectrum by linking the field of architecture.

Academic Activities
The Architecture Master's Program is conducted over 4 semesters (2 years). The total credit load is 40 credits (sks), consisting of mandatory courses, elective courses, research, and thesis writing according to the curriculum. Academic activities take the form of mastering theory through attending lectures, reviewing lessons, laboratory activities, studio work, literature studies, actively participating in discussions and seminars, enriching knowledge and conducting research, as well as taking part in the study evaluation/examination process. Other academic activities include field exploration (case studies) and the development of science and the profession. The academic calendar for Semester I begins in early September, while Semester II begins in early February and ends in June.
The Architecture Doctoral Program is conducted over 4 semesters (2 years), with a total credit load of 50 credits (sks), consisting of core courses, supporting courses, research, and thesis or dissertation writing according to the curriculum.
