The ITS Master's Program in Geophysical Engineering (S-2) is designed to produce geophysicists with deep specialization, focusing on energy challenges and geological disasters in Indonesia. This program adopts a modular and highly applicable curriculum structure.
Program Structure and Objectives
- Degree Level: Master's (S-2)
- Total Credits: Around 36 Credits (sks) (including Thesis)
- Main Focus: Providing specialists who possess deep technical competence and innovation capabilities (Design Thinking, Machine Learning) for the energy sector and disaster mitigation.
Curriculum Excellence and Innovation
- Data Science Integration (AI/ML): The program mandates the Machine Learning for Geoscience course across all specialization tracks, positioning graduates in line with global trends in big data analysis.
- Non-Technical Skills: Mandatory courses such as Design Thinking (problem-solving methodology) and Scientific Dissemination (publication skills).
- Intensive Application: The 4-credit Field Specialization Project in Semester III serves as a professional project work simulation, training managerial and leadership skills.
- Standard Compliance: The curriculum meets the requirements of KKNI Level 8 and aligns with SKKNI competency needs in the Oil & Gas and Geothermal sectors.

- Industry Partnerships: Collaborations with regulators and the energy industry (SKK Migas, Pertamina Geothermal Energy) and disaster mitigation agencies (BNPB, BMKG).
