Di Stadion Ngurah Rai yang terletak berseberangan dengan kampus Unmas itulah upacara pembukaan PIMNAS 2010 diselenggarakan.<\/p>\n<p>Sekitar pukul 09.00 waktu setempat acara dimulai. Peserta dan undangan yang memadati tribun dihibur oleh penampilan para penari tradisional Bali. Selain rektor Unmas dan wakil gubernur Bali, Mendiknas M Nuh juga didaulat memberi sambutan. Mantan rektor ITS itu berharap PIMNAS kali ini dapat menjadi suatu momentum kebangkitan Indonesia. Pemukulan gong oleh Mendiknas itu menandai PIMNAS 2010 telah resmi dibuka.<\/p>\n<p>Piala bergilir Adhikarta Kertawidya diserahkan dari rektor Universitas Brawijaya sebagai juara umum PIMNAS 2009 kepada rektor Unmas Tjok Istri Sri Ramaswati selaku tuan rumah penyelenggara PIMNAS. Penyerahan simbolis tersebut menandakan supremasi tertinggi PIMNAS itu siap diperebutkan kembali oleh 113 perguruan tinggi dari seluruh Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Upacara pembukaan PIMNAS 2010 itu semakin marak dengan atraksi 1650 penari pendet. Mereka merupakan siswi-siswi dari Yayasan Perguruan Rakyat Sarawati, mulai tingkat TK hingga perguruan tinggi. Dengan lincah dan tangkas, ribuan penari membentuk formasi kata &#8216;BALI PIMNAS&#8217;.Pertunjukan atraktif itu selain untuk menghibur para peserta dan tamu undangan, juga merupakan sebuah upaya pemecahan rekor MURI.
