Dosen Departemen Biologi <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> Aunurohim SSi DEA bahas dampak mikroplastik terhadap lingkungan dan penanggulangannya lewat program Sustainablue. <\/span><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aunurohim menjelaskan bahwa mikroplastik adalah salah satu pemicu tercemarnya ekosistem laut. Mikroplastik yang ditemukan umumnya berupa hasil dari proses fragmentasi atau pecahan plastik yang biasa digunakan sehari-hari, dengan kisaran ukuran lebih dari satu mikrometer dan kurang dari lima milimeter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dengan ukuran yang bahkan hanya bisa dilihat di bawah mikroskop, mikroplastik rentan masuk ke dalam tubuh biota laut melalui proses makan dan dimakan. Melalui penelitiannya, dosen yang akrab disapa Au ini menyatakan adanya temuan mikroplastik di dalam ikan. \u201cMikroplastik ini paling banyak ditemukan di organ pencernaan,\u201d jelasnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selain di organ pencernaan, mikroplastik juga dapat mengancam nyawa ikan. Ukurannya yang kecil menjadikannya terbawa arus air dan dengan mudah masuk ke dalam insang ikan. Proses masuknya mikroplastik ke insang dapat menimbulkan gesekan dan lambat laun menyebabkan pembuluh darah membengkak dan menutup insang. \u201cApabila sudah terjadi pembengkakan, cepat atau lambat ikan dapat mati,\u201d imbuhnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Temuan mikroplastik di dalam tubuh ikan ini memunculkan urgensi pengkajian lebih lanjut, sebab ikan masih memegang peran penting sebagai sumber gizi bagi penduduk indonesia. \u201cKekhawatiran terkait terakumulasinya mikroplastik di tubuh manusia dari konsumsi ikan pun menuntut upaya penelitian dan pencegahan, salah satunya program Sustainable Blue atau biasa disebut sebagai SustainaBlue,\u201d jelas dosen berkacamata ini.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Project Manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/2024\/06\/10\/its-luncurkan-program-sustainablue-pusat-keberlanjutan-biru-di-asia-tenggara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SustainaBlue<\/a> ini menjelaskan, proyek yang didanai sekitar EUR 779.000 oleh Erasmus Plus tersebut merupakan wujud kepedulian ITS bersama mitra kampus di Indonesia, Malaysia, Yunani, dan Siprus terhadap keberlangsungan ekosistem laut.
