Merespons isu ini, tim <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/2024\/11\/12\/kkn-abmas-its-kampanyekan-sertifikasi-halal-bagi-umkm-kopi\/\">Kuliah Kerja Nyata Pengabdian Masyarakat (KKN Abmas)<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> merancang alat filtrasi fotoreaktor untuk mendegradasi zat warna pada air limbah.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ketua tim KKN Abmas Sigit Dwianto menjelaskan bahwa pengelolaan limbah zat pewarna sintetis pada pembuatan batik masih belum sepenuhnya terolah dengan baik. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan naiknya tingkat pencemaran lingkungan akibat polutan yang semakin menumpuk, tak terkecuali pencemaran air. Hal ini tidak selaras dengan upaya realisasi poin keenam <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/2024\/11\/06\/its-ajak-mahasiswa-pahami-tantangan-dalam-mewujudkan-sdgs\/\">Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a>, yakni jaminan akses terhadap air bersih dan sanitasi layak.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini, Sigit bersama timnya menginisiasi pembuatan alat filtrasi fotoreaktor untuk mendegradasi zat warna pada air limbah pembuatan batik. Sigit menjelaskan, dalam prosesnya, air limbah yang dihasilkan biasanya mengandung zat pewarna rhodamin B. Pada tahap pertama, air limbah akan diolah menggunakan tabung fotoreaktor. Dalam proses ini, air limbah ditambahkan dengan material komposit titanium dioksida (TiO2) dengan sedikit nanoselulosa untuk mendegradasi zat pewarna. Kemudian, proses degradasi akan dipercepat dengan bantuan sinar ultraviolet (UV) dalam tabung fotoreaktor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selanjutnya, air limbah yang mulai memudar warna merah mudanya akan diproses melalui tabung filtrasi berisi material penjernih air. Tabung tersebut berisi pasir silika, karbon aktif, pelepah kelapa, zeolit, dan batu kerikil. Selain berkontribusi pada pengembangan UMKM batik, tim KKN bimbingan Haniffudin Nurdiansah ST MT ini juga berperan aktif dalam mewujudkan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Terakhir, Sigit berharap kegiatan KKN dapat meningkatkan kesadaran khususnya UMKM di Surabaya agar menjaga kondisi lingkungan dengan tidak membuang air limbah secara langsung ke lingkungan.
