ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014 Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> has once again achieved a brilliant achievement at the 2024 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI)<\/a> which took place at the Vocational Faculty of Yogyakarta State University (UNY), 13 – 18 September 2024. In the national level competition, the ITS Bayucaraka team managed to take home five awards for the excellence of its unmanned aircraft innovation.<\/b><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The competition held at Gading Airport, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) led the ITS Bayucaraka team to win first place in the Vertical Take Off Landing (VTOL) category, third place in Racing Plane, and fourth place in Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA). In addition, they were also crowned as Best Methodology in the Technology Development (TD) category and Best Design in the VTOL category. This achievement further confirms the superiority of the ITS Bayucaraka team in various aspects of the competition.<\/p>\n

Official Public Relations of the ITS Bayucaraka Team Fairuuz Azmi explained that the highest achievement was achieved by his team in the VTOL category with the Soeroku87 aircraft, a sophisticated drone capable of long-distance autonomous flight indoors. “With stable and reliable performance, we managed to win first place and win the Best Design award thanks to the innovative design we made,” said Fairuuz.<\/p>\n

In addition, according to Fairuiz, the Palkonjet aircraft of the Bayucaraka team also successfully completed a 700-meter round trip while carrying four 250-milliliter milk cartons, which led the team to win third place in the Racing Plane category. “Our aircraft was able to fly fast while carrying a payload weighing 1.1 kilograms and remained stable,” added the Informatics Engineering Department student. No less proud, the Barbatos aircraft that competed in the LELA category managed to win fourth place with the ability to cover a distance of 60 kilometers at low altitude and carry out a payload drop mission. “Our LELA aircraft was able to fly far and long by completing several missions, such as dropping and mapping,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Bayucaraka team’s cutting-edge innovation won the Best Methodology award for the technology applied to the Songgoriti aircraft. This vehicle has a strong and easily repairable modular airframe. “We are very proud of this achievement, because this aircraft can reflect our efforts in developing practical and innovative technology,” he said.<\/p>\n

KRTI has become an annual event for the ITS Bayucaraka team to demonstrate the ability to develop unmanned aero vehicles (UAVs). “Hopefully we can continue to improve our achievements and provide benefits to many people in the future,” he concluded optimistically.
