ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014 <\/strong>The marine transportation sector has made significant progress in the last decade. One of them is the achievement of the development of 193 marine infrastructure by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia which shows the implementation of equitable sea transportation services in Indonesia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This brilliant achievement was conveyed by the Head of the Transportation Human Resources Agency Ir Subagiyo MT representing the Indonesian Minister of Transportation Dr Ir Budi Karya Sumadi in a Focus Group Discussion<\/em> (FGD) themed Kaleidoscope of Marine Transportation Sector Achievements<\/em> 2015 – 2024 at the ITS Research Center Auditorium, Wednesday (11\/9). In the event initiated by the Transportation Policy Agency (BKT) in collaboration with the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS)<\/a>, Subagiyo revealed that this massive infrastructure development is none other than to support tourism as well as trade and industry.<\/p>\n

Head of the Transportation Human Resources Agency Ir Subagiyo MT represented the Minister of Transportation Dr Ir Budi Karya Sumadi when delivering the achievements of the sea transportation sector based on the performance of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation online.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Furthermore, according to Subagiyo, several ports that received rehabilitation in order to support tourism include Sanur Port, Wae Kelambu, Likupang, Gili Terawangan, and many more. While in the mission of expanding trade and industry, some of the ports developed are Patimban Port, Pantoloan, Maloy, and Tanah Paser Port to support the Archipelago Capital (IKN).<\/p>\n

Not stopping there, the Sea Toll Program which began in 2015 with three routes has now grown rapidly to serve 37 routes with 604 target voyages<\/em> or sea trips. Another program, Perintis Laut, also shows good connectivity achievements, with 38 and 50 percent allocated to Central and Eastern Indonesia out of a total of 107 routes. \u201cThis progressive achievement shows the equitable distribution of sea transportation services in Indonesia,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

ITS is a university that is fully committed to the development of the maritime sector in Indonesia. Together with BKT, ITS was lined up to host the FGD event this time.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, ITS Rector Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD revealed that in the last 10 years, ITS has continued to innovate various products to advance the marine transportation sector. One of them is the 3-in-1 Ship design for passengers, containers and vehicles which is now operated by PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI). \u201cIn addition, we (ITS) also developed the Automatic Identification System<\/em> ITS (AISITS), Ocean Farm<\/em> ITS (OFITS), Baito Deling, and Marine Drone,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The rector, who is familiarly called BP, added that ITS also focuses on providing appropriate technology and management as a tool to monitor policy implementation in the transportation sector. Strategic collaboration and cooperation from various parties is one important aspect in achieving efficient and effective public policy implementation. \u201cThis is where ITS plays a role to develop and provide these tools,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Executive Director III of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Ali Sodikin MMar when conveying the achievements of PT Pelindo in the last 10 years.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From a different perspective, Executive Director III of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Ali Sodikin MMar explained its achievements after the merger of the four regional PT Pelindo. Ali explained that the merger of Pelindo has created port service efficiency in order to reduce logistics costs. \u201cEvidently, there is a decrease in national logistics costs to 14.29 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2023,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Not only that, continued Ali, in the last decade Pelindo has also initiated to create a Well-connected Ecosystem<\/em> in several regions in Indonesia. Among these are port integration with the Kijing area and industrial connectivity infrastructure in the eastern area of Jakarta with the Port of Tanjung Priok. \u201cWe also provide integrated connectivity through multimodal transportation and one-door licensing services,\u201d Ali added.<\/p>\n

Various positive achievements were also conveyed from other important institutions and parties in the field of sea transportation. Among others, from the East Java Provincial Transportation Office, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Ditjen Hubla), PT Indonesian National Shipowners Association (INSA), and many more. With these progressive and effective achievements, it is hoped that it can produce a useful recommendation as an initial condition<\/em> for the direction of the development of the marine transportation sector going forward.
