Hal ini dibuktikan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat ( Abmas) ITS yang mengimplementasikan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">food-grade cooking pan<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dan pengolahan limbah pada industri gula merah di Desa Ngetrep, Kecamatan Mojo, Kabupaten Kediri, Sabtu (28\/9).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ketua tim Abmas Dr Eng Raden Darmawan ST MT mengungkapkan bahwa industri gula merah di desa tersebut menghadapi masalah kandungan logam berat. Adapun produktivitas industri yang bernama PT Tiga Dewi Timur Raya ini juga kurang efektif akibat pemisahan zat sisa dari cairan tebu (nira) yang tidak efisien. \u201cDiperlukan alat pemasakan nira yang higienis dan mampu memisahkan zat sisa dengan nira,\u201d ujarnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menanggapi masalah tersebut, tim Abmas dan dosen yang akrab disapa Darmawan ini menciptakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">food-grade cooking pan<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> yang dilengkapi dengan automasi proses pengambilan zat sisa (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">scraping)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Adapun penggunaan bahan Stainless Steel SS 304 yang anti korosif agar membuat produk aman digunakan. Alat ini dilengkapi bilah untuk menyapu zat sisa yang terkandung di dalam busa nira. \u201cBilah ini berputar secara kontinu untuk menjaga kemurnian nira,\u201d jelas dosen <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\/tkimia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Departemen Teknik Kimia ITS<\/a> ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sistem <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">scraping<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> tersebut, lanjutnya, mampu meningkatkan produktivitas industri gula merah sebesar 20 hingga 30 persen. Ia menambahkan bahwa efisiensi produksi juga dapat ditingkatkan melalui pemanfaatan limbah yang optimal. \u201cKami menginisiasi pemanfaatan zat sisa dari <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">scraping<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dan limbah produksi untuk pakan domba,\u201d imbuh Darmawan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Berkolaborasi dengan Universitas Islam Kadiri (UNISKA), dalam inovasi pengolahan limbah dilakukan dengan teknik fermentasi. Darmawan mengungkapkan bahwa limbah produksi masih mengandung serat kasar yang sulit dicerna oleh domba. Darmawan bercerita bahwa sang mitra, yakni pemilik industri gula merah merasa lebih terarah dalam meningkatkan produktivitas industri. Selain itu, adanya sosialisasi dan edukasi mengenai inovasi terhadap masyarakat membantu mereka dalam penerapannya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Di akhir, Darmawan berharap agar luaran dari Abmas ini dapat memberikan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat. Ia memandang bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan daya saing industri gula merah lokal melalui pendekatan inovatif. \u201cSemoga dengan ini industri lokal dapat memperluas pasarnya ke pasar global,\u201d tuturnya penuh harap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sebagai tambahan, kegiatan Abmas ini adalah penerapan dari Program Diseminasi Teknologi dan Inovasi skema penugasan tahun 2024 yang didanai oleh Direktorat Riset, Teknologi, dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi.
