Acara yang bertempat di Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta Pusat ini merupakan <em>event <\/em>akbar yang dijadikan ajang temu kangen antar alumni ITS. Puluhan alumni&nbsp; yang sudah menjadi orang sukses di bidangnya berkumpul menjadi satu, dan membahas kegiatan-kegiatan positif untuk kemajuan almamaternya.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Salah satu tujuan mendatangkan presiden SBY adalah untuk memberi motivasi terhadap mahasiswa kampus perjuangan ini,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ungkap Pembantu Rektor IV ini dalam sambutannya. Tujuan mulia ini pun disambut meriah oleh peserta <em>gathering <\/em>lainnya. Tepukan tangan pun menggema di dalam ruangan menyertai ungkapan itu.<\/p>\n<p>Selain membahas tentang rencana untuk memeriahkan ulang tahun emas, para alumni juga membicarakan kemajuan ITS di masa depan. Salah satunya dengan mempererat hubungan antar alumni dan mahasiswa. Misalnya saja dengan mempermudah mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan kerja praktek di perusahaan mereka sampai pemberian beasiswa IKA ITS bagi mahasiswa aktivis yang prestatif.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mahasiswa yang sesungguhnya adalah mereka yang tidak hanya ahli di bidang akademik saja, namun juga mengasah <em>soft skill<\/em>-nya,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ungkap Ir Djawahir Adnan. Menurut Sekretaris Jendral Pengurus Pusat Ikatan Alumni ITS ini, mengasah <em>soft skill<\/em> itu banyak macamnya. Kepemimpinan adalah salah satunya. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Para alumni sukses yang menghadiri <em>gathering <\/em>ini dulunya adalah aktivis sejati dan mempunyai jiwa kepemimpinan yang tinggi,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d cetusnya.<\/p>\n<p>Di sela-sela <em>gathering <\/em>alumni, sempat pula diluncurkan sebuah buku motivasi di kalangan akademisi. Buku berjudul Inspiring to Success Menuju Kemandirian Bangsa ini berisi seratus kisah sukses alumni ITS dalam meniti karirnya. Mahasiswa ITS memang dikenal sebagai pekerja keras di mata dunia. Mayoritas mereka meniti karir mulai dari nol. Dan tidak jarang kisah ini berakhir bahagia, menjadi pemimpin perusahaan terkemuka. Di antaranya adalah Rukmi Hadihartini sebagai Direktur SDM Pertamina, Soekrisno sebagai Direktur Utama PT Pertambangan Batubara Bukit Asam, Muhammad Nuh DEA sebagai Menteri Pendidikan Nasional, dan masih banyak lagi alumni yang tidak mungkin disebutkan satu persatu.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Semoga kuliah tamu presiden SBY dan peluncuran buku ini menjadi motivator besar mahasiswa ITS,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d harap Djawahir.
