Getaran yang berpusat pada 132 kilometer Timur Laut Tuban ini dirasakan hingga Surabaya, Malang, Semarang dan beberapa daerah di Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur lainnya. Lantas, mengapa hal itu bisa terjadi?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Peneliti Senior dari <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/mkpi\/id\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pusat Penelitian Mitigasi Kebencanaan dan Perubahan Iklim (Puslit MKPI)<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> Dr Ir Amien Widodo MSi mengatakan bahwa guncangan yang terjadi pada daerah laut itu dipicu oleh sesar aktif di Laut Jawa. Gempa dengan kedalaman 10 kilometer ini pun membuat jangkauan daerah guncangan semakin meluas hingga daratan Pulau Jawa.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut Amien, gempa dengan kedalaman dangkal yang disebabkan oleh sesar aktif ini ialah peristiwa yang jarang terjadi. Adanya pergeseran dan tekanan dari dua permukaan pada Laut Jawa ini menimbulkan getaran dengan skala <em>Modified Mercally Intensity<\/em> (MMI) III-IV. Namun, gempa ini akan menghasilkan beberapa gempa susulan dengan skala magnitudo yang lebih rendah dari gempa pertama. \u201cUntuk mitigasinya, gempa tersebut perlu dimonitoring guna mengetahui apakah ada tekanan yang masih aktif atau tidak,\u201d tutur dosen <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\/tgeofisika\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Departemen Teknik Geofisika<\/a> ITS itu.<\/p>\n<p>Pakar Geologi ITS ini pun mengungkapkan bahwa pada tahun 2017 Pusat Studi Gempa Nasional (PuSGeN) telah merilis sebanyak 295 sesar aktif di Indonesia yang berpotensi gempa. Maka dari itu, sudah seharusnya pemerintah daerah yang berdekatan dengan sesar aktif itu harus melakukan pemeriksaan seperti pengecekan kondisi bangunan, permukaan, dan sejenisnya.<\/p>\n<p>Hingga berita ini dirilis, belum ada informasi lebih lanjut mengenai dampak dari gempa berskala sedang itu.
