NeuroCube ini juga didukung oleh teknologi <em>machine learning<\/em> yang semakin inovatif.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Annisa Septyana Ningrum ST, Ketua tim mahasiswa dari program studi S2 <a href=\"http:\/\/its.ac.id\/tfisika\">Departemen Teknik Fisika ITS<\/a> ini mengatakan bahwa ide pengembangan biosensor ini berawal dari kesadaran akan meningkatnya kasus gangguan mental di kalangan mahasiswa. Selain itu, ia juga menyadari akan adanya kompleksitas diagnosis penyakit mental dan kecenderungan pasien yang menjawab tidak sesuai dengan kondisinya ketika menemui psikolog.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih lanjut, Annisa menjelaskan bahwa biosensor ini terinspirasi dari konsep kertas lakmus yang dapat berubah warna saat bereaksi dengan asam atau basa. Konsep tersebut kemudian diaplikasikan pada senyawa neurotransmiter seperti dopamin, glutamat, dan Nikotinamida Adenosin Dinukleotida Hidrogen (NADH) dalam sampel urin.<\/p>\n<p>Dari sampel yang telah didapat tersebut akan terjadi perubahan warna yang dapat memberikan indikasi tingkat konsentrasi senyawa yang mampu mendeteksi enam gangguan neurologis. Gangguan tersebut seperti demensia, gangguan obsesif\u2013kompulsif (OCD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), gangguan bipolar, skizofrenia, dan Alzheimer.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam pengembangannya, tim yang beranggotakan lima orang ini mampu menyatukan empat komponen penting, yaitu kertas biosensor mikrofluida, miniprosesor Raspberry Pi, <em>Liquid Crystal Display<\/em> (LCD) <em>touch screen<\/em>, dan lampu LED menjadi sebuah alat yang diberi nama NeuroCube. Warna yang dihasilkan pun akan memiliki tingkatan tersendiri, seperti dopamin yang akan berubah warna dari bening menjadi kuning hingga merah menyesuaikan dengan konsentrasi senyawa tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Beralih ke komponen Rasberry Pi pada kerangka NeuroCube, merupakan sebuah komputer kecil yang bekerja sebagai <em>Central Processing Unit<\/em> (CPU) yang mampu mengambil gambar melalui kamera yang telah terhubung. Gambar yang dihasilkan nantinya akan melalui pemrosesan citra dalam algoritma program untuk mengonversi warna hasil reaksi menjadi konsentrasi senyawa. Hal ini yang dijadikan input pada <em>machine learning<\/em> guna mengetahui persentase risiko gangguan neurologis seseorang.<\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya itu, adanya lampu LED mampu mengontrol intensitas cahaya yang masuk ke kamera yang terhubung pada NeuroCube ini sendiri.
