Bakal Calon Rektor ITS periode 2024-2029 nomor urut 12, Prof Lalu Muhamad Jaelani ST MSc PhD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kampus ITS, ITS News \u2014<\/b> Menjadi manusia yang bermanfaat kepada sesama, merupakan motivasi Prof Lalu Muhamad Jaelani ST MSc PhD sebagai Bakal Calon Rektor (Bacarek) <\/a>Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> periode 2024-2029. Dosen Departemen Teknik Geomatika<\/a> dari Fakultas Teknik Sipil, Perencanaan, dan Kebumian (FTSPK) tersebut ingin memajukan kemanusiaan serta mengembangkan ITS.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bacarek nomor urut 12 tersebut mengusung jargon SEHATI, akronim dari Sejahtera dan Bereputasi. Sejahtera dimaknai Lalu sebagai keharusan ITS dalam menjaga kesejahteraan sumber daya manusianya. Sementara bereputasi dimaknai sebagai dampak yang dihasilkan oleh ITS kepada masyarakat luar. \u201cReputasi tercermin pada keunggulan sumber daya dan infrastruktur,\u201d ujar dosen berusia 42 tahun ini.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Selama hampir 20 tahun mengabdi kepada Ibu yang luhur ITS, dosen yang tumbuh besar di Lombok ini merasa bahwa ITS memiliki potensi yang amat besar baik dari segi internal maupun eksternal. Keyakinan tersebut menjadi motivasi terbesarnya untuk dapat berkontribusi mengembangkan ITS dan menebar kebermanfaatan yang tersistem guna menciptakan kebaikan yang berkelanjutan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pengabdiannya pada Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, tercermin dalam pengalaman Lalu menjadi anggota tim <\/span>Ad hoc<\/span><\/i> World Class University<\/em> (WCU) ITS 2015. Selanjutnya, Lalu pernah menjabat sebagai Kepala Pusat Studi Kebumian, Bencana, dan Perubahan Iklim pada tahun 2016. Tak hanya itu, Lalu juga pernah menjadi Project Manager ITS Tanggap Bencana pada tahun 2018 hingga 2019. \u201cSejak 2020, saya menjadi Kepala Subdirektorat Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat,\u201d ujarnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Belasan tahun merasakan atmosfer dan lingkungan ITS, alumnus National Central University, Taiwan ini mengungkapkan bahwa dirinya dan orang lain pasti memiliki pengalaman kurang menyenangkan di ITS. Tiap orang pasti memiliki pengalaman kurang mengenakkan yang berbeda. Lalu memaknai perasaan subjektif tersebut sebagai tantangan untuk dapat diselesaikan bersama.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lebih dalam, salah satu contohnya yaitu kesenjangan antara dosen dan tenaga kependidikan (tendik). Lalu berpendapat bahwa kesenjangan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan memberikan jenjang karier yang jelas kepada tendik, sehingga dosen dan tendik memiliki tingkatan yang setara.\u00a0<\/span>Lalu memiliki gambaran untuk menjadikan tendik sebagai wakil rektor. \u201cKarena tidak punya tuntutan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, tendik punya banyak waktu luang untuk belajar dan memberikan dedikasi,\u201d ulasnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alumnus doktoral University of Tsukuba, Jepang ini mengungkapkan, ia akan mengoptimalkan sumber daya manusia ITS untuk menghasilkan produk kebaikan yang kuat dan berkelanjutan kepada masyarakat. Salah satu cara yang ditempuhnya ialah mengintegrasikan antara riset dengan potensi mahasiswa pascasarjana ITS. \u201cKita tidak akan bisa jika menggantungkan riset pada dosen saja,\u201d imbuhnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Apabila tidak terpilih sebagai rektor ITS periode 2024-2029, Lalu menyatakan dengan tegas bahwa dirinya siap memberikan kontribusi terbaik kepada ITS. Sebagai lembaga pendidikan sekaligus rumah inovasi berbasis teknologi, ITS memerlukan pemimpin yang memahami dinamika saat ini. \u201cRektor ITS harus punya keberanian berinovasi, kecepatan beradaptasi, dan energi yang cukup untuk terus berkarya dan berbagi,\u201d pungkasnya penuh semangat. <\/span>(HUMAS ITS)<\/b><\/p>\n
