ITS Campus, ITS News<\/strong> \u2014 Seeing the high level of fossil fuel vehicles on the roads, an alumnus of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) took the initiative to create an environmentally friendly alternative mode of transportation through a startup called Truu Mobility. This startup produces micromobility electric vehicles in the form of scooters and velomobiles.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Founded in April 2022, Truu Mobility CEO Radyan Artantyo SDs said that currently, many motorized vehicles are used for short-distance travel only. One way is to go to a minimarket less than 500 meters away. “From there, we try to make vehicles designed for short-distance travel,” said the ITS Industrial Product Design<\/a> alumnus.<\/p>\n

Based on this problem, Radyan, together with Fairuz Sinatriya and Haqy Prasetya, initiated a scooter called Truu Mark I. This scooter, which has a speed of 25 kilometers per hour, is equipped with a locking system. With this feature, scooter riders can mitigate the loss of their scooter while outside. “With this feature, riders will feel safe traveling with this scooter,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, the bespectacled man revealed that the scooter that uses this battery can also last for 35 kilometers on a single battery charge. The scooter battery is replaceable if the scooter battery runs out during the trip. Since its launch in December 2022, Truu Mark I has sold three units. For now, you can order a scooter by contacting the Instagram account @iou.id to pre-order.<\/p>\n

So far, this innovative scooter has always been developing, both in terms of design and features. Radyan said that in the manufacturing process, the Truu Mark I scooter received funding of IDR 40 million through the ITS Innovative Business Incubator and Services (ILBI)<\/a> from the Indonesian State Electricity Company (PLN).<\/a> Apart from that, the scooter was exhibited at the Innovative Product Exhibition by the ITS Alumni Association (IKA) East Java Regional Management (PW).<\/p>\n

Apart from scooters, Radyan revealed that currently, his startup is currently developing a velomobile called Velo. The creation of Velo was aimed at Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that need vehicles for short-distance mobilization. Not only that, this electric car can also be used by couriers to deliver packages from house to house. “We will also offer this product to government agencies and private companies,” he said.<\/p>\n

According to him, this car, which has a mileage of 55 kilometers, has advantages in terms of maintenance. Because there is no engine in this car, the maintenance can be less frequent. This makes this vehicle practical and efficient because it does not require a lot of money and time compared to other motorized vehicles.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Radyan said that the car, which is still in the design stage, is targeted to be completed by the end of this year so that it can be launched in March 2024. “Currently, we are also trying to contact parties who have the potential to use the vehicle in the National Capital City. (IKN),” explained Radyan.<\/p>\n

Finally, the man from Surabaya hopes that the Truu Mark I and Velo products will interest the broader community in the future. The presence of Truu Mobility can also be a reminder for people to switch from motorized to environmentally friendly vehicles. “The hope is that people will pay more attention to environmental issues and not use motorized vehicles for short-distance transportation,” he concluded.
