ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014<\/strong> Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember\u00a0(ITS) collaboration in creating technological innovation in health devices in Indonesia continues. This time, ITS through PT Tekno Sains Medika collaborated with PT Bina Makmur Abadi to launch and market seven new medical devices they made.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

ITS Deputy Chancellor IV Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD said that the launch of this medical device was proof of ITS’ commitment to developing technology in the health sector. Collaborating with Airlangga University Hospital (RSUA) as a place for research and trials, he hopes that ITS can play a bigger role in domestic health products. “The health products made also use local product components,” he said.<\/p>\n

Bambang said that there are still many imported goods for medical devices and the rapid development of technology currently encouraging ITS to create medical devices, especially products with Domestic Component Level (TKDN). “Digital 3D printing technology, artificial intelligence (AI), as well as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be used to facilitate health facilities in Indonesia,” said Bambang.<\/p>\n

In line with this, medical equipment inventor and ITS lecturer Djoko Kuswanto ST MBiotech explained that the creation of these seven products was an implementation of integrated 3D digital design and effective digital fabrication in the world of health. Through fabrication technology, products can be customized and made based on consumer desires. “It is hoped that the use of this technology can help speed up the handling of medical cases,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the application of 3D digital technology can be seen in the products that have been launched. These products include AMO3D which is a 3D data-based implant mold, GUO3D which is a 3D-based work support tool, and PRO3D which functions as a body protective device made from 3D scans of the patient’s body. These tools are also the only products of collaboration between innovation and digital technology in health facilities in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Not only as a health support tool, ITS also created a product called HUMA3D in the form of a mannequin and TSM.BONES in the form of a human bone replica as a means of education and clinical training for prospective medical experts. The last two products launched were RiseHand, which is a tool that helps amputated finger patients grasp objects and Surgical Instruments, which are tools used in surgical operations, such as scissors, knives and tweezers.<\/p>\n

Djoko stated that the product, which had just been launched at the Jakarta Convention Center, last Wednesday (18\/10), had been used by several hospitals and universities in Indonesia. Some of these products have even been used and hundreds of units have been ordered. “So the quality of these products is no less competitive with products from developed countries,” said the ITS Medical Technology lecturer.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Director of PT Tekno Sains Medika Nike Besta Sari said that the price of the product being marketed is cheaper than other similar products. For example, HUMA3D is sold for just under Rp. 50 million, cheaper than similar products that cost hundreds of millions. Apart from being made from local components, production is not carried out on a large scale but rather using a pre-order system. “As much as possible the selling price is below imported products, but does not reduce product quality,” confirmed Nike.<\/p>\n

Finally, Nike said that this launch had opened the door to people who wanted to collaborate and use innovative products from ITS. For this reason, he will continue to hold outreach and workshops as well as development of these health tools. “Hopefully after the launch of this product, we can continue to initiate and develop domestic product innovation more widely,” he said hopefully.\u00a0(ITS PUBLIC RELATION)<\/strong><\/p>\n
