Dalam sambutannya Rektor ITS, Prof  Ir Priyo Suprobo MS PhD menyampaikan tanggapan positif terhadap kerjasama ini. Menurutnya kerjasama ini selaras dengan kebijakan yang akan dicanangkan  ITS yaitu konsep eco-campus<\/em>. Eco-campus<\/em> sendiri adalah konsep kehidupan kampus dengan berwawasan teknologi ramah lingkungan, Probo menambahkan. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dSemoga kerjasama ini dapat terus berlangsung antara ITS dan PLN, terutama dalam bidang perkembangan teknologi,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ujar Probo yang juga mantan Dekan FTSP ini.<\/p>\n

Program CSR yang dikemas dalam program Partisipasi Pemberdayaan Lingkungan (P3L) PT PLN ini difokuskan untuk pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui bidang pendidikan. Senada dengan Probo, Fahmi mengatakan  kerjasama ini sangat menguntungkan kedua belah pihak. Lebih lanjut Fahmi bercerita tentang beberapa  kerjasama lain yang telah dijalin oleh PLN dan ITS Sejak lama. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dengan adanya program P3L semoga kerjasama akan terjalin lebih erat lagi,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d papar Fahmi.<\/p>\n

Fahmi juga mengungkapkan bahwa alasan dipilihnya kampus ITS sebagai salah satu penerima program P3L  karena ITS merupakan perguruan tinggi terkemuka di Indonesia yang tidak perlu diragukan kompetensinya. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Lingkungan ITS juga nyaman untuk melakukan mobilitas dengan sepeda,\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 ungkap Fahmi kemudian.<\/p>\n

Dalam kesempatan ini Fahmi dan Probo juga mencoba sepeda listrik dengan mengendarainya dari Jurusan Elektro menuju gedung rektorat. Acara dilanjutkan dengan peresmian PLN corner <\/em>yang terletak pada lantai lima gedung Perpustakaan Pusat ITS.<\/p>\n

PLN corner<\/em> selain di lengkapi lima unit komputer, televisi dan layar lebar juga ruang diskusi untuk mahasiswa. Mahasiswa dapat mengakses berbagai informasi data ilmiah lewat internet maupun buku-buku yang disediakan. Sementara itu bantuan informasi center yang di tempatkan di Jurusan Teknik Elektro berguna untuk memudahkan masyarakat ataupun mahasiswa mengakses informasi PLN.<\/p>\n

Bantuan pembangkit listrik tenaga surya atau solar cell<\/em> yang di tempatkan di Jurusan Teknik Elektro dan gedung rektorat dimaksudkan untuk mensosialisasikan penggunaan energi terbarukan. Sedang bantuan sepeda motor listrik lebih dimaksudkan untuk mengajak civitas akademika ITS untuk peduli terhadap lingkungan dalam menghadapi global warming<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Penyerahan secara simbolis dilakukan  langsung oleh Direktur Utama PT PLN, Ir Fahmi Mochtar  MM kepada Rektor ITS, Prof  Ir Priyo Suprobo  MS PhD.
